366. Yogini or mohini mudra

Verse 366

ஆமப்பா மோகினி முத்திரையைச் செய்து

அருள் பெருகும் புருவமதில் மனக்கண் சாற்றி

ஓமப்பா அகாரமுடன் உகாரங் கூட்டி

உத்தமனே மவுன மென்ற யகாரத்தேகில்

காமப்பால் கானல்பால் சித்தியாகுங்

கருணைவளர் மனோன்மணியுஞ் சித்தியாகும்

வாமப்பா பூரணமுஞ் சித்தியாகும்

மகத்தான மால்பதமுஞ் சித்திதானே

Translation:

Yes, performing mohini mudra

Placing the mind’s eye where grace flows

Om son, joining the akara and ukara

The supreme one! If you go to the yakara the silence

Desire (kaama paal) and delusion (kaanal paal) siddhi will be attained

The merciful Manonmani siddhi will be attained

The vaama, poornam will be attained

The glorious locus of maal (maya) will be attained.

Commentary:

The next and last mudra takes the yogin to the supreme state.  The mudra is named mohini here while in verse 360 it was named yogini.  Agatthiyar does not mention a special mantra for this locus.  He mentions that the akara and ukara should be joined together, that is, saguna brahman who appears as the manifested world, sakti, should be joined with nirguna brahman, siva.  The yogin then goes to the thoughtless state, the state of silence, the yakara of namasivaya.  Then all the desires and delusions due to maya will be put to rest.  Manonmani or the supreme state beyond the mind will be attained.  Vaamai or kundalini, the poornam will be attained and the yogin goes to the suddha maya state.

அடுத்த முத்திரையும் கடைசி முத்திரையுமான மோகினி முத்திரையைப் பற்றி இப்பாடலில் கூறுகிறார் அகத்தியர்.  பாடல் 360 ல் இந்த முத்திரை யோகினி முத்திரை என்று குறிப்பிடப்பட்டிருந்தது.  இந்த முத்திரைக்கு ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட பீஜ மந்திரங்கள் எதையும் குறிப்பிடவில்லை.  ஆனால் ஓம்காரத்தின் அகாரமும் உகாரமும் ஒன்றாகக் கூட்டப்பட வேண்டும் என்கிறார் அவர்.  அதாவது நிர்குண பிரம்மனும் உலகமாக சக்தியாகக் காணப்படும் சகுணப் பிரம்மனும் ஒன்றாகக் கூட்டப்பட வேண்டும் என்கிறார்.  இவ்வாறு செய்து ஒரு யோகி யகாரம் எனப்படும் மவுன நிலையை அடைந்தால் அவரது ஆசைகள் எனப்படும் காமப்பால், மாயை ஏற்படுத்தும் மயக்கங்கள் எனப்படும் கானல் பால் ஆகியவற்றின் சித்தி எபடும் என்றும் மனமானது உன்மணி நிலையை அடையும் என்றும் வாமையான குண்டலினி பூரணத்தின் சித்தி ஏற்படும் என்றும் அந்த யோகி சுத்த மாயை நிலையை அடைவார் என்றும் கூறுகிறார் அகத்தியர்.
