342. Shodasa puja

Verse 342

காட்டடா தூபமொடு தீபங்காட்டிக்

கருணை பெற மானதமாய்த் தியானஞ் செய்து

மூட்டடா மணியோசை சங்கினோசை

முழுக்கடா சகநாத வோசையோடு

கூட்டடா சங்கீத மேளவாத்தியங்

குமறவே நாகசுர சாமத்தாளஞ்

சூட்டடா சோடசமாம்உபசாரங்கள்

சுத்தமுடன் செய்துகெடந் தன்னை வாங்கா.

Translation:

Wave the fragrance and lamp

To obtain her mercy, perform mental contemplation

Start the sound of bells, conch

Merge it with the sound of the universe

Add the drums

And the Nagaswara (wind instrument) and other offerings

Perform the sixteen types of offerings

Do that and get the sacred pot.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar is continuing the previous verse about the worship ritual,  He says one should sound various sacred objects like bell, conch, drums, wind instruments and perform shodasa upachara or 16 types of offerings.  The worshiper should then take a pot, may be poorna kumbha, and offer it also.

முந்தைய பாடலின் தொடர்ச்சியாக மகேஸ்வரி பூசை செய்பவர் பலவித மங்கள வாத்தியங்களை முழங்கி சோடச உபாசரங்களைச் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்றும் கடத்தை (பூரண கும்பம்?) வாங்க வேண்டும் என்றும் அகத்தியர் கூறுகிறார்.
