361. aavarahan (aavaahana ?) mudra

Verse 361

சாற்றுவது அவரவர்கள் முத்திரையைக் கண்டு

சங்கையுடன் ஓமென்று தியானஞ் செய்யில்

பார்த்திபனே சதாகோடி மந்திரமுஞ்சித்தி

பதிவான சகலநிலை சாஸ்திரமுஞ்சித்தி

தேற்றியதோர் ஆதார மூலமது சித்தி

திருவாசியான தொரு வாசியது சித்தி

தோத்திரமாய் நின்றதொரு பூசையது சித்தி

சுகமான ஆவரகன் முத்திரையின் சித்தே

Translation:

Perform the mudras specific for each

When contemplating om

Parthibha!  All the crores of mantra siddhi will be attained

All the states, sastra siddhi

Adhara mula siddhi

The thiruvaasi, the vaasi siddhi

The worship, the puja siddhi

All the siddhis through the aavaragan mudra.

Commentary:

Avahana mudra is where the palm is placed facing up at the heart level with the thumb touching the base of the ring finger.  Agatthiyar says that this mudra grants all types of siddhis- mantra, puja, sastra, muladhara, vaasi siddhis. 

ஆவாகன முத்திரை என்பது கைகளை மேல்நோக்கி இதய உயரத்தில் கட்டைவிரல் மோதிர விரலின் அடியைத் தொடும்படி வைப்பது.  இந்த முத்திரை எல்லா வித சித்திகளையும்-மந்திர, பூசா, வாசி, மூலாதார சித்திகளையும் பெற்றுத் தரும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
