331. A practical method to see the brilliance

Verse 331

கண்ணான கண்மூடி கருத்தொன்றாகிக்

கருணை பெறக் கேசரத்தில் மனக்கண் சாற்றி

விண்ணான தோத்திரத்தை விரலால் ஆட்டு

விளங்கி நின்ற ரவிபோலே காந்தி வீசும்

ஒண்ணான காந்தி பிரகாசங் கண்டால்

உத்தமனே அபமிருந்து ஓடிப் போச்சு

முன்னான சோதியிலே மனக்கண் சாற்றி

முத்தியுடன் சுத்தமதாய்த் தன்னைப் பாரே

Translation:

Closing the eyes and focusing the attention

Placing the mental eye in kecharam, to attain grace,

Rub the prayer, the sky with the finger

Brilliance, like ravi, will shine

If that effulgence is seen

The great one!  Birth will run away

Placing the mind’s eye in the flame

See the Self as suddha, with mukti.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar is describing the process where the roof of the mouth is rubbed to remove kapha which would enable vision of supreme vision. Agatthiyar says that one should place the mind’s eye at kecharam and rub the space part which is beyond the vishuddhi cakra.  He says that a brilliance will emerge.

இப்பாடலில் அகத்தியர் வழலை வாங்குதல் என்ற ஒரு வழிமுறையைப் பேசுகிறார். மனக்கண்ணை கேசரத்தில் வைத்து விரலால் விண் எனப்படும் இடத்தை ஆட்டினால் ஒளி தோன்றும் என்றும் அதில் மனதைச் சாற்றிப் பார்த்தால் ஆத்மானுபவம் ஏற்படும் என்றும் அவர் கூறுகிறார்.
