323. See the self in the darkness

Verse 323

தானேதான் ஆகிநின்ற எழுவர் தானும்

தனித்து நின்ற பராபரமாஞ் சுழியினுள்ளே

வானேதான் கெதிஎனவே சகலசித்தும்

வரிந்துவிளை யாடி மிக வானமுட்டி

ஊனேதான் தானேவே முப்பாழுக்கப்பால்

ஒடுங்கி நின்ற பாழ் வீட்டுக்குள்ளே சென்று

நானேதான் நீயென்று அந்தகாரம்

நலமான இருளதனில் நாடிப்பாரே

Translation:

The seven who are nothing but self

Within the whorl, the paraparam

As the sky as the path/refuge, all the mystical accomplishments

Playing them, knocking on the sky

Beyond the three paazh,

Going into the house of paazh

As I am you, in the darkness/ in the sense of self

Seeking them in the darkness and see it.

Commentary:

Suzhi means whorl.  This whorl is Paraparam, the Supreme Being.  The seven are Brahma, Vishnu, Rudra, Maheswara, Sadasiva, Sakthi and Siva.  They are all nothing but Self.  All the seven manifestations reached the space, paazh, beyond the triple paazh- the paazh of maya, paazh of bodha or awarenss and paazh of upasantha or tranquility.  They reached the supreme state which is also paazh.  Agatthiyar advises Pulathiyar to go this house and seek them in the darkness described before, with a feeling “I am you all”.

சுழி என்றால் பராபரம் என்று தொடங்கும் அகத்தியர் எழுவரான பிரம்மா, விஷ்ணு, ருத்திரன், மகேஸ்வரன், சதாசிவன், சக்தி, சிவன் ஆகியோர் தான் தான் என்கிறார்.  வானத்தைப் பயணிக்கும் வழியாகக் கொண்டு பல சித்துக்களை விளையாடி முப்பாழ் எனப்படும் மாயப்பாழ், போதப்பாழ் உபசாந்தப்பாழ் என்பவற்றைக் கடந்து துவாதசாந்தத்தில் உள்ள பாழை அடைந்து அங்கு “நானே நீ” என்பதாக அதாவது ஜீவாத்மாவும் பரமாத்மாவும் ஒன்றே என்ற கருத்துடன் அந்த நிலையை இருளில் தேடவேண்டும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
