313. Sanchara samadhi

Verse 313

காணவே நிருவிகற்ப சமாதிசொன்னேன்

கருணையுள்ள சஞ்சார சமாதிகேளு

தோணவே அண்டசரா சரங்களெல்லாம்

சுகமாக வேறல்ல நாமென்றெண்ணி

பேணவே தானிருந்து கிரக சூக்ஷம்

பிரியமுடன் கண்டறிந்து வாசிபூட்டு

ஊணவே நடக்கும்போதிறக்கும் போதும்

ஒடுக்கமுடன் மவுனமாய் உலாவுவாயே

Translation:

I spoke about nirvikarpa Samadhi

Now hear about the merciful sanchaara Samadhi

With all the universes, the mobile and immobile

Consider them as none other than self

Remaining so, with the subtlety of the graha

Knowing about them, the vaasi lock

Planting it firmly, while walking and opening

You will saunter with silence and abide. 

Commentary:

Agatthiyar is describing the sanchara Samadhi.  Sanchara is the movement of consciousness.  The term graha means that which grabs.  Normally it is used to indicate the planets but the navagraha or nine planets are principles that hold on to a person causing various effects.  For clarity on the nature and function of these graha please read Rober Svoboda’s book “Greatness of Saturn.”  The grahas in this verse correspond to the cakras.  Each chakra represents a planet.  For example Saturn corresponds to muladhara.  Knowing the nature of these graha the yogin locks his life force or vaasi which moves between these graha.  Graha also means houses which is also apt in this context.  He remains in silence when his consciousness moves through these sites and reaches sahasrara. 

Sanchara Samadhi also means remaining in the state of Samadhi while moving around in the world.  Agatthiyar refers to this when he says the vaasi should be planted firmly while walking around also. 

இப்பாடலில் அகத்தியர் சஞ்சார சமாதியை விளக்குகிறார்.  சஞ்சாரம் என்றால் ஓர் இடத்திலிருந்து மற்றொரு இடத்துக்குப் போவது.  இங்கு சஞ்சாரம் செய்வது உயருணர்வு, வாசி.  கிரகம் என்ற சொல்லுக்குப் பல பொருள்கள் உள்ளன.  ஒன்றைப் பற்றிக்கொள்வது என்று இதற்குப் பொருள் கொண்டால் கிரகங்கள் ஒருவரைப் பற்றியிருக்கும் பல தத்துவங்களைக் குறிக்கின்றன.  நவகிரகங்கள் என்பவை மக்களைப் பாதிக்கும் ஒன்பது வித தத்துவங்களைக் குறிக்கின்றன.  இவற்றைப் பற்றிய விளக்கங்களை ராபர்ட் ச்வோபோடா எழுதிய கிரேட்னஸ் ஆப் சாடர்ன் அல்லது சனி மகாத்மியம் என்ற புத்தகத்தைப் படிக்கவும்.  கிரகம் என்றால் வீடு என்ற பொருளைக் கொண்டால் இவை நம் உடலில் உள்ள சக்கரங்களைக் குறிக்கின்றன.  இந்த வீடுகளின் ஊடே உயருணர்வு பயணிக்கின்றது, வாசி பயணித்து சகஸ்ராரத்தை அடைகிறது. இவ்வாறு அது மவுனமாக அனைத்துத் தத்துவங்களும் ஒடுங்க, ஒவ்வொரு சக்கரமாகக் கடக்கும்போது பயணிக்கும்போது சஞ்சார சமாதி ஏற்படுகிறது என்கிறார் அகத்தியர். 

சஞ்சார சமாதி என்பது ஒருவர் உலக வாழ்க்கை வாழும்போதும் கைக்கொண்டிருப்பது.  அதைத்தான் அகத்தியர் நடக்கும்போதும் திறக்கும்போதும் என்று குறிப்பிடுகிறார்.
