219. Not only good things but also those that can cause evil will come under one's control through vasyam

Verse 219

ஆமப்பா தேவரோடு முனிவர்தானும்

அடங்காத பிசாசுமுதற் சத்துருக்கள்

ஓமப்பா மிருகமுதல் அஷ்ட நாகம்

ஒடுங்காத பக்ஷிமுதல் சகலமெல்லாம்

தாமப்பா ஆதி கணபதியின் சூக்ஷந்

தண்மையுடன் தியானித்துத் தானே நின்றால்

காமப்பால் கானற்பால் வசியமாகிக்

கருணையுடன் சகலமும் வசியங்காணே

Translation:

Yes son, along with Deva the munis

From globins to one’s enemies

From animals to the ashta naga (eight snakes)

The uncontrollable birds to everything

The subtlety of Adi Ganapathy

If you remain contemplating on him

Kamappaal and kaanalpaal will come towards (you)

Everything will be attracted towards one through vasyam.

Commentary:

Not only good things will be come to a person through vasyam the evil things will also be brought under control.  Devas include the rain god Varuna, Indra, Yama and Agni.  They are said to grants various benefits to people.  Munis are sages who grant both benefits and curses to people depending on the context.  Ashta naga or eight snakes are Ananthan, Vasuki, Karkodakan, Dhakshan, Shankan, Guligan, Padman and Mahapadman.  They are considered to be protecting the world. Along with these the kamappaal, kaanal paal will also come under one’s control.

நற்பொருட்கள் மட்டுமல்லாமல் தீயவையும் வசிய சித்தியைப் பெற்றால் ஒருவரது கட்டுப்பாட்டுக்குள் வரும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.  தேவர் என்பவர்கள் வருணன், இந்திரன், யமன், அக்னி போன்றோர்.  அவர்கள் உலக மக்களுக்கு பல்வேறு நன்மைகளை அளிப்பவர்கள்.  முனிவர்கள் என்பவர்கள் மக்களுக்கு அவர்களது செயலுக்கேற்ப வரமோ சாபமோ அளிப்பவர்கள்.  அஷ்ட நாகங்கள் என்பவை அனந்தன், வாசுகி, கார்கோடகன், தக்ஷன், சங்கன், பத்மன், குளிகன், மகாபத்மன் என்பவர்கள்.  அவர்கள் உலகைக் காப்பதாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது.  இவர்களைத் தவிர காமப்பாலும் கானற்பாலும் வசிய சித்தியினால் ஒருவரது கட்டுப்பாட்டுக்குள் வரும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
