187. All are forms of omkara

Verse 187

வாறான எழுவகையின் தோற்ற மெல்லாம்

மகத்தான ஓங்கார வடிவுமாச்சு

பேரான வேதமொடு சாஸ்திரங்கள்

பெருகிநின்ற மந்திரங்கள் அஷ்டகர்மம்

நேரான ஜபதபங்கள் யோக நிஷ்டை

நின்றிலங்கும் கௌனமுதல் வசிய மாற்றம்

கூரான வாதமொடு வைத்திய மெல்லாம்

குருவான ஓங்காரக் குறிதான் கேளே

Translation:

The appearance of the seven types that emerged

Became forms of omkara

The Vedas and Sastra

The innumerable mantras and eight actions

The japa, tapas, yoga nishtai

The gaunam, vasyam and transformation

The Vada and medicine- all these,

Are all signs of Omkara the guru.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar explains that the life forms that emerge into this world, the scriptures, the austerities-japa,tapa etc, the eight actions-vasyam, mohanam, sthambanam, ucchaadanam, aakrushnam, bedhanam, vidveshanam and maaranam, the mystical accomplishments of fight or gaunam, physical and psychological transformations- vadam and medicines, are all forms of omkara, the guru oor the remover of ignorance.

ஓங்காரத்தைப் பற்றி விளக்கிவரும் அகத்தியர் இப்பாடலில் ஏழுவித உயிர்கள், சாத்திரங்கள், வேதம், ஜபதபம் போன்ற நிஷ்டைகள், அஷ்ட கர்மம் எனப்படும் வசியம், மோகனம், ஸ்தம்பனம், உச்சாடனம், பேதனம், ஆகர்ஷணம்.  வித்வேஷணம் மற்றும் மாரணம் ஆகியவை, சித்திகள் எனப்படும் கெவுனம் அல்லது வானத்தில் பறப்பது, உடல் மற்றும் மன மாற்றங்களை ஏற்படுத்தும் வாதம் மருத்துவம் ஆகியவை அனைத்தும் குருவான ஓங்காரத்தின் வடிவங்களே என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
