185. The five "doers" said Om in the beginning

Verse 185

ஆச்சப்பா ஆதிபரா பரந்தான் மைந்தா

அனுக்கிரகத் தாலுதித்த கணபதி வல்லபையும்

மூச்சப்பா நிறைந்த சத்தி சிவமுமாகி

மூவுலகுந் தானாகி முதலுமாகி

பேச்சப்பா நிறைந்ததொரு பஞ்ச பூதம்

பேறாகிப் பெருமையினாற் கணபதியுமாகி

பாச்சப்பா பஞ்சகர்த்தாள் ஐந்து பேரும்

பக்திகொண்டு ஆதியிலே ஓம் என்றாரே

Translation:

Son, the Adi Paraparam,

Due to whose grace emerged Ganapathi and Vallabhai

The breath, after becoming Sakthi and Sivam

As the embodiment of all the three worlds and as the primal entity

Speech (sound) the filled five elements

Becoming the boon, becoming Ganapathi due to glory,

The Five “doers” (kartha)

Becoming devoted, in the beginning say said Om.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar says a few important things in this verse.  The Ganapathi and Vallabhai emerged because of the grace of Paraparam.  Paraparam is the original state of the Divine.  It is the primary state before manifestation.  It leads to the emergence of manifestation which Ganapathi and Vallabhai represent.  Ganapathi, Vallabhai are really the breath or “moocchu”.  They ultimately become Sakthi and Sivam who are embodiment of all the universes.  The five elements are the gross form of “vak” or nadha which starts manifestation.  Thus, the elements have the essence of vak or “pecchu”.  The five “doers” or pancha kartha are Sadasiva, Maheswara, Rudra, Vishnu and Brahma.  They are different states of consciousness, moving from subtle or fully manifested state.  Agatthiyar says that these doers began their existence and action through uttering Om or pranava.

அகத்தியர் இப்பாடலில் சில முக்கியமான கருத்துக்களைக் குறிப்பிடுகிறார்.  கணபதியும் வல்லபையும் ஆதியான பாரபரத்திலிருந்து தோன்றியவர்கள்.  அவர்கள் மூச்சு அல்லது பிரணனாவர்.  பராபரமே ஆதியின் தண்மையான நிலை.  கணபதியும் வல்லபையும் முடிவில் சக்தியும் சிவனும் ஆகின்றனர்.  இதை நாம் முந்தைய பாடல்களிலும் பார்த்தோம்.  ஐந்து பூதங்களும் சத்தம் அல்லது நாதத்திலிருந்து தோன்றின.  நாதத்தின் முழுவெளிப்பாட்டு நிலையே பேச்சாகும்.  இவ்வாறு ஐம்பூதங்களும் பேச்சால் நிறைந்தவை.  பஞ்ச கர்த்தாக்கள் என்பவர் சதாசிவன், மகேசுவரன், ருத்திரன், விஷ்ணு மற்றும் பிரம்மன் ஆவர்.  இவர்கள் விழிப்புணர்வின் பல நிலைகள்.  சதாசிவ நிலை சூட்சும நிலை. பிரம்மா என்பது ஸ்தூல நிலை.  இந்த பஞ்ச கர்த்தாக்களும் மூலாதாரத்திலிருந்து ஆக்ஞாவரை உள்ள சக்கரங்களுக்கும் அதிபதிகள்.  இவர்கள் ஐவரும் தமது செயல்பாட்டைத் துவக்குவதற்கு முன் ஓம் என்று கூறினர் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
