209. Another muppu jaya karpam

Verse 209

முப்புச் செயநீர் பற்பம்

கட்டான கட்டுமுறை திட்டங்கண்டால்

கனகமென்ற பாக்கியங்கள் கைக்குள்ளாகும்

மட்டாக இன்னமொரு முப்பூச்சுன்னம்

மார்க்கமுடன் சொல்லுகிறேன் மைந்தா மைந்தா

கிட்டாத அந்தமடா அண்டத்தாதி

கெணிதமுள்ள பூரமுடன் வெளியுங் கூட்டித்

தட்டாமல் கல்வமத்தில் நாத நீறால்

தன்மையுடன் தானரைத்து வட்டுப் பண்ணே

Translation:

Muppu jaya neer karpam

The procedure to tie everything, if this is known

The golden attainments will be achieved

I will tell you about another muppu sunnam

I will tell you the procedure, son, son.

The not-easily-achievable origin of the universe.

Along with pooram add the space

In the mortar, with the water of nadha

Grind it and make it into a cake

Commentary:

Agatthiyar is describing another procedure for muppu sunnam.  He prescribes that the pooram, the space and nadha should be ground together and made into a cake.  The pooram here is Divinity who is fully complete.  Pooram also refers to camphor.  It represents the Supreme Being in the form of flame.  Space represents its all-pervading nature.  The Ultimate Reality is called the light within the space or “veLikkul oLi”.  Thus, this muppu sunnam involves the light and space form of the Divinity with nadha or primordial space.  These are the causes of the manifested universe.  He is continuing the idea in this verse in the next.

அகத்தியர் மற்றொரு முப்பு சுன்னத்தை இப்பாடலில் விளக்குகிறார்.  பூரத்தை வெளியுடன் கூட்டி கலுவத்தில் இட்டு நாத நீர் கொண்டு ஆட்டி வட்டுக்களாக்க வேண்டும் என்று கூறுகிறார் அவர்.  வட்டு என்ற சொல் வட்டம் என்று பொருள் படும்.  பூரம் என்பது கற்பூரம் என்பதையும் குறிக்கும்.  அது இறைவனின் ஒளியுருவத்தைக் குறிக்கும்.  வெளி அல்லது வெட்டவெளி என்பது இறைவனின் எங்கும் விரவியிருக்கும் அருவ நிலையைக் குறிக்கும்.  இறைவனை வெளிக்குள் ஒளி என்று சித்தர்கள் அழைக்கின்றனர்.  இவ்வாறு முப்பு என்பது இறைவனின் ஒளி நிலை, வெளி நிலை மற்றும் நாதத்தைக் கொண்டது. இந்தப்பாடலின் கருத்தை அடுத்த பாடலில் தொடருகிறார்.
