181. How people get deluded.

Verse 181

பூசைநெறி அறியாமல் ஆண்பெண் என்றும்

பொல்லாத மாய்கைவலைத் தன்னிற் சென்று

ஆசைகொண்டு மோகமதால் அறிவுங் கெட்டு

வங்கமென்ற சங்கதியை அறியாமல்தான்

பாசமென்ற பலராசியில் மனதழுந்தி

பரகதியை அறியாத பாவிமாரே

ஓசைஎன்ற சத்தமுதிற் தடங்கி வீட்டை

உற்ற மனக்கண்ணாலே நித்தம் பாரே

Translation:

Without knowing the method of puja, as man and women

Getting ensnared in the net of the evil maya

Becoming desirous and losing the mind due to longing

Without knowing the truth

With the mind getting embedded in the a variety of fruits of action, the pasa

The sinners who do not know the paragathi!

With the sound maturing and abiding,

See the house with the mind’s eye daily.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar says that people get deluded by the distinctions of man and woman.  They do not know the method of puja and get ensnared by the evil maya.  They lose their minds due to desire and longing.  The mind also gets embedded in desiring the fruits of action, the pasa.  He calls people who live so as sinners who do not know the Paragathi and tells them to see the house where sound abides after maturing with their mental eye.

மக்கள் ஆண் பெண் என்ற வித்தியாசத்தைப் பார்த்து மனம் மயங்குகின்றனர்.  பூசை முறைகளை அறிவதில்லை.  தமது மனதை ஆசையாலும் மோகத்தாலும் இழந்து உண்மையை அறியாமல் பலவிதமான பலன்களில் ஆசை வைத்து பாசத்தில் சிக்கிக்கொள்கின்றனர்.  அத்தகைய மக்களை பாவிகள் பரகதி அறியாதவர்கள் என்று அழைத்து அவர்களை சத்தம் முதிர்ச்சியடைந்து ஒடுங்கும் வீட்டை மனக்கண்ணால் பார்க்கும்படி அறிவுரை கூறுகிறார் அகத்தியர்.
