171. After returning home

Verse 171

கேளடா தன்பதியில் வந்திருந்து

கிருபையுடன் சட்டரச வர்க்கஞ் செய்து

வாளடா குருபதத்தைப் போற்றி மைந்தா

வணக்கமுடன் குருபூசை வளமாய்ச் செய்து

பாளடா போகாமற் சமாதியில் மைந்தா

பத்தியுடன் நித்தியமும் பூசை செய்தால்

கோளடா வாராமற் சமாதி தன்னிற்

குருவான முற்றாகாரம் அதிகமாமே

Translation:

Listen son, after returning home

With mercy, offering various products

Praising the gurupadam

Performing the gurupuja with humility

Without letting the tomb become uncared for

If worship is performed daily

Without any damage occurring to the tomb

The presence of Guru in the tomb is high.

Commentary:

After returning home one performs worship rituals and prays to the guru.  Pujas are performed daily at the tomb.  The tomb is cared for with great respect.  If it is done so the presence of the guru will be felt more at the tomb.

மேற்கூறியவாறு சடங்குகளைச் செய்த பிறகு ஒருவர் தனது வீட்டுக்கு வந்து அங்கு பலவித பொருட்களை குருவுக்குப் படைத்து பூஜை செய்ய வேண்டும்.  அவரது சமாதியைக் கருத்துடன் கவனித்து அங்கு தினமும் பூசை செய்யவேண்டும்.  அவ்வாறு செய்தால் அங்கு குருவின் சான்னித்தியம் அதிகமாக இருக்கும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
