170. Various offerings after entombment

Verse 170

செய்யப்பா மானதமாய்ப் பூசைசெய்து

சிந்தை மனது ஒன்றாகச் சிவனை நோக்கி

மெய்யப்பா கோதானம் பூதானங்கள்

மேன்மையுள்ள கன்னிகா தானஞ் செய்து

கையப்பா தவறாமல் அதற்குப் பூசை

கருணையுடன் பூரிகா தானஞ் செய்து

கையப்பா மையமென்ற குருவைப் போற்றி

மார்க்கமுடன் தன்பதியில் வந்து கேளே

Translation:

Perform manasa puja

With the mind towards Siva

Offer cow, land

Maiden (in marriage)

Perform puja without missing it

Perform the purika dhana also

Praising the guru as the central entity

Listen to what should be done in one’s own house.

Commentary:

After performing the manasa puja as mentioned in the previous verse various things are offered as dhaana.  Go dhaana or cow is offered, bhu dhaana or land offering and kannika dhana or offering a maiden in a marriage are performed along with offering eagle wood or akil (bhurika dhaana).  After performing these dhaana one performs puja to the tomb without fail.  Agatthiyar lists the procedure to do after returning home.

யோகியின் உடலை சமாதிப்படுத்திய பிறகு பசு, நிலம், அகில் கட்டை ஆகியவற்றையும் ஒரு பெண்ணை திருமணம் முடித்துக் கொடுப்பதான கன்னிகா தானம் ஆகியவற்றையும் செய்யவேண்டும்.  அதன் பிறகு அந்த சமாதியில் விடாமல் பூசை செய்து மனைக்குத் திரும்பவேண்டும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
