173. Rituals for the body of a lady yogin

Verse 173

செய்யப்பா சுகாசனமாய்த் தீர்க்கம் பண்ணி

சிவசிவா அபிஷேகம் நன்றாய்ச் செய்து

மெய்யப்பா தெரியாமல் பட்டு வஸ்த்திரம்

மேன்மைபெறத் தானணிந்து விபூதி சாற்றி

மையப்பா மையமத்தில் திலதப் பொட்டு

மகத்தான சுகந்தமலர் மாலை சாற்றி

வையப்பா தங்கத்தால் பட்டஞ் செய்து

மகத்தான எட்டெழுத்தை மாறிக்கேளே

Translation:

Place well in sukhasana

Siva sivaa!  Performing sacred ablution well,

Cover the body well with silk cloth so that nothing is visible,

Adorn it and smear sacred ash

In the middle (of the forehead) a sacred mark (thilatham)

Adorn garland of fragrant flowers

Make a gold leaf foil

Write the eight letters with their order changed, listen.

Commentary:

The lady yogin is placed in sukhasanam and sacred ablution is performed to it.  The body is covered with silk cloth and sacred ash is smeared on the forehead.  A thilakam is placed in the middle. The body is adorned with a garland of sacred flowers.  A gold foil is taken and the eight letters are written on it in the reverse order.  This will used to tie to her forehead.

மூர்த்திகரமான பெண் சாதுவை சுகாசனத்தில் வைத்து உடலுக்கு அபிடேகம் செய்ய வேண்டும்.  பிறகு பட்டு சாற்றி விபூதி அணிவிக்கவேண்டும்.  விபூதியின் நடுவே திலகமிட்டு உடலுக்கு மணம் வீசும் மலர்களால் ஆன மாலையைச் சாற்ற வேண்டும். அதன் பிறகு ஆண் யோகிக்கு செய்தது போல நெற்றியில் அணிவிக்க தங்கத்தால் ஆன பட்டையை அடுத்து அதில் எட்டெழுத்தை முறை மாற்றி எழுத வேண்டும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
