241. Ashta karma- conclusion, Ashta Ganapathy

Verse 241

செம்மையுடன் அஷ்ட கர்மம் எட்டுக்குந்தான்

தீர்க்கமுடன் அஷ்டகண பதியின் சூக்ஷம்

நன்மையுடன் சொன்னனடா நயந்துபாரு

நாதரந்த புலத்தியமா ரிஷியேஐயா

உண்மையுடன் அஷ்டதிசைக் கரசாய் நின்று

உகந்துவிளை யாடுதற்கு இதுவே சூக்ஷந்

தன்மையுடன் சூக்ஷமதிற் சாக்ஷியாக

தானிருந்து அஷ்டகர்மந் தான்தானாமே

Translation:

For the eight, ashtakarma

The subtlety of the ashta Ganapathy

I told you with the benefits, see it with interest

Pulathiyar Maharishi! the Lord,

Remaining truthfully as the ruler of the eight directions

This is the subtlety to play with interest

As the witness for the subtlety

It is the ashta karam, verily.

Commentary:

Agattthiyar concludes the section on the ashta karma or the eight actions by stating that the eight Ganapathys or ashta Ganapathy are the rulers of thes eight actions.  It may also mean ashta Ganapathy, one with eight faces.  Agatthiyar says that asta Ganapathy is the lord of eight directions.  Agatthiyar says that he has described the procedure and the benefits for the ashta karma so that one can “play” using them.

அஷ்ட கர்மங்களைப் பற்றிய பகுதியின் முடிவுரையாக அகத்தியர் அஷ்ட கர்மங்களுக்கு அதிபதிகள் அஷ்ட கணபதிகள் என்றும் அவர்கள் எட்டு திசைகளுக்கும் அரசர்கள் என்றும் கூறுகிறார்.  இது எட்டு முக அஷ்ட கணபதியையும் குறிக்கும். 

தான் மேலே கூறிய விவரங்கள் இந்த கர்ம சித்திகளை எவ்வாறு பெறுவது, அவற்றின் பலன்கள் என்ன என்று தெரிவிப்பதால் இந்த சித்துக்களால் விளையாடுவது சாத்தியமாகிறது என்கிறார் அவர்.
