உச்சாடனம்

பாரப்பா தம்பனத்தைச் சொன்னேன் மைந்தா

பதிவான உச்சாடனத்தைப் பகரக்கேளு

நேரப்பா தென்திசையை நோக்கி மைந்தா

நேர்மையுடன் விபூதி உத்தளமாய்ப் பூசி

காரப்பா பட்டந்தா னாசனமேற்கொண்டு

கருணையுடன் சங்குமணி கையில் வாங்கி

சாரப்பா சத்திகணபதியின் சூக்ஷந்

தன்மையுடன் ஓம்கிலியுஞ் சவ்வென்றெண்ணே

Translation:

See, I told you about sthambanam, son.           

Now listen to me describe ucchaadanam

Son, facing the south

Adorning the sacred ash

Remaining in a plank asana

Take the conch bead chain

The subtlety of sakthi ganapathi

Contemplate om kili sau

Commentary:

Agatthyar describes ucchaadanam one of the ashtakarma that grants protection for the one who utters the mantra in a specific way.  Siddhas use this method as a protection while engaging in specific austerity.  Karuvuraar describes the asana or seat for this as a plank made of veppaalai wood.  Agatthiyar describes as pattam which may be the same bark.  He says that one should hold a “sangu mani”  while Karuvoorar advises to hold a tulasi mani mala.  Sangu mani is conch.  The Ganapathy who grants ucchaadana siddhi is Sakthi Ganapathy and the mantra is om kili sau.

The yogin should sit facing south and utter this mantra.

உச்சாடணம் என்ற கர்மாவை சித்தர்கள் தங்களது காப்பாகப் பயன்படுத்தினர்.  இது மந்திரங்களை உச்சரிக்கும் விதத்தைக் கூறுகிறது.  இந்த சித்திக்கு ஒரு யோகி தென் திசையை நோக்கி அமர்ந்து கையில் சங்குமணி மாலையை எடுத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.  அவரது ஆசனம் பட்டம் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.  கருவூரார் இந்த கர்மத்தை  விளக்கும்போது வெப்பாலை மரத்தால் ஆன ஒரு பலகையில் ஒரு யோகி அமர வேண்டும் என்று கூறினார்.  பட்டம் என்பது மரத்தின் பட்டையோ என்று தோன்றுகிறது.  இந்த கர்மத்துக்கான மந்திரம் ஓம் கிலி சவ் என்பது.
