222. Subtle difference between vaseekaram and mohanam

Verse 222

பாரப்பா ரிஷிமுனிவர் தேவரெல்லாம்

பதிவான மிருக முதல் பக்ஷிஎல்லாங்

காரப்பா சகல நோய் விஷங்களெல்லாம்

காட்டேரி பிசாசு முதல் கணங்களெல்லாம்

நேரப்பா நதிகளொடுஸ் தலங்களெல்லாம்

நேர்மையுடன் உன் சமுகங் கண்டால் மைந்தா

வீறப்பா தானொடுங்கி மோகனமேயாகும்

வேதமகா கணபதியும் விஞ்சையாச்சே

Translation:

See son, the rishi, muni and devas

From animals to birds

All the diseases, poisons

The ghoul, ghost and other beings

All sacred sites along with rivers

If they see your presence, son,

Their abide and become mohanam

The supreme knowledge is Veda Maha Ganapathy.

Commentary:

This verse tells us the subtle difference between vaseekaram and mohanam.  While both the karma brings things to the yogin the nature of the things brought under his control seem to be different.  Both the karma enchant evil forces, other lifeforms and natural elements towards the yogin but vaseekaram brings knowledge, in addition to these.

இப்பாடல் வசீகரத்துக்கும் மோகனத்தும் இடையே உள்ள வேறுபாட்டைக் காட்டுகிறது.  இந்த இரு கர்மங்களும் ரிஷி, முனிவர், மிருகங்கள், இயற்கை ஆகியவற்றை யோகியை நோக்கி வரச்செய்தாலும் வசீகரம் வேதம், சாஸ்த்திரம் என்ற அறிவு முறைகளையும் அந்த யோகியிடம் வரச்செய்கிறது.
