Verse 239

எண்ணடா முளகுமணி தானுமைந்தா

இன்பமுடன் ஆயிரத் தெண் ணுருவேயானாற்

உண்ணடா பேதனந்தான் உறுதியாகும்

உத்தமனே அதனுடைய சித்தி கேளு

கண்ணடா தானறிந்து பேதனத்தையோதி

கருத்துடனே சிவயோகத் திருக்கும்போது

நண்ணடா உன்ரூபம் மைந்தா கேளு

நாட்டமுடன் விதவிதமாய்த் தோணும்பாரே

Translation:

Son, count with beads made of pepper

If you recite it 1008 times

Bedhanam will firm up

The supreme one!  Hear the siddhi attained by this

Knowing the bedhanam and reciting

While remaining in Siva yogam

Your form, son,

It will appear as several different types.

Commentary:

Bedhanam means causing disparity, making something appear to be different. Bedhanam is used to turn friendship into enmity. Love into hate. Agatthiyar gives a different meaning for this siddhi.  He says that bedhanam will make the yogi’s form appear as of different types. One has to remain in siva yogam.

பேதனம் என்பது ஒன்றை மற்றொன்றாகத் தோன்றச் செய்வது.  இதன் மூலம் நண்பர்களை விரோதிகளாக்கலாம், அன்பை வெறுப்பாக மாற்றலாம்.  ஆனால் அகத்தியர் இதற்கு வேறொரு விளக்கம் அளிக்கிறார்.  பேதனத்தை விரும்பும் ஒரு யோகி சிவயோகத்தில் இருக்கும்போது இந்தா சித்தியை விரும்பினால் அவரது உருவம் விதவிதமாகத் தோன்றும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
