86. Benefits of Bhairava dhyana

Verse 86

காணலாம் அவருடைய மூலங் கேளு

கனகரத்தின மானசிறு குழந்தை போலத்

தோணலாம் புருவநடுக் கமலந் தன்னிற்

சுகமாகச் சொரூப நிலை கண்டாயானால்

பேணலாம் அவர்பதத்தைத் தியானஞ் செய்து

பெருமையுடன் மானதமாம் பூசை செய்தால்

பூணலாஞ் சகலவரங் கைகுள்ளாகும்

பொற்கமல வைரவனைத் தியானம் பண்ணே

Translation:

His origin can be seen, listen

Like a small child who is golden and ruby like hued

Will appear in the lotus in the middle of the brow

If you see the original form

You can nurture his sacred feet/locus through contemplation

If the glorious mental worship is performed

All the boons will come under control

Contemplate on the golden lotus Bhairava.

Commentary:

After mentioning that Bhairava is the protector of the locus Agatthiyar described his mantra in the previous verse.  Here he describes Bhairava’s locus and form.  Agatthiyar says that Bhairava appears like a small child who is golden and ruby hued.  He appears at the ajna cakra.  When one obtains his vision and contemplates on his form, all the boons will come under control. 

Bhairava dhyana describes another stage in the ascent of consciousness.

வைரவர் க்ஷேத்ர பாலர் என்று கூறி அவரது மந்திரத்தை முந்தைய பாடலில் உரைத்த அகத்தியர் இப்பாடலில் அவரது உருவத்தைப் பற்றியும் இடத்தைப் பற்றியும் சொல்கிறார்.  வைரவர் காண்பதற்கு தங்க நிறமான ரத்தினத்தின் நிறம் கொண்ட குழந்தை உருவை உடையவர் என்றும் அவரை ஆக்ஞா சக்கரத்தில் காணலாம் என்றும் கூறும் அகத்தியர் அவரது தரிசனத்தைப் பெற்று அவரது பதத்தை ஒருவர் தியானித்தால் எல்லா வரங்களும் கைக்கூடும் என்கிறார்.

வைரவர் தரிசனம் உணர்வு எழுச்சியில் ஒரு நிலை என்பது இதிலிருந்து தெரிகிறது.
