409. Chidananda roopam

Verse 409

தானேதான் விளங்குமடா அறிவானந்தந்

தன்மையுள்ள பூரணமாய்த் தாந்தானாகும்

வீணேதான் திரியாதே அறிவைப் பற்று

வேதாந்தஞ் சித்தாந்தம் இரண்டும் ஒன்று

கோனேதான் தானவனாய்க் குறித்துப் பாரு

குறியறிந்து பார்த்துநிலை கொண்டாயானால்

ஊனேதான் ஆனந்த போதமாகும்

உண்மையென்ற நிருவிகற்பம் உறுதிபாரே

Translation:

The bliss of awareness will become clear automatically

The self will become the poornam

Do not roam around uselessly, hold on to awareness

The Vedanta and Siddhantha are verily one

The king is the self, see self has Him

Knowing the sign if you know the state

The body will become anandha bodham

The truth, the nirvikarpam.  See it firmly.

Commentary:

The self is the poornam,  It is the bliss of awareness.  Agatthiyar advises Pulatthiyar to hold on to this awareness and tells him that Vedanta and Siddhantha are one. When one realizes that the Lord is none other than the Self then one’s body will be that of aanandha bodham, one will reach the state of bliss awareness chithananda.  Thus one will reach nirvikalpa state, undifferentiated from the Divine.  This nirvikalpa is not nirvikalpa Samadhi.  Samadhi is a state experienced during yoga.  This nirvikalpa is a permanent state, that of being allpervading, being without any distinctions. This is the chidhananda roopam.

ஆத்மா என்பது பூரணம், ஆனந்த அறிவு.  இந்த அறிவு நிலையைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்றும் வேதாந்தமும் சித்தாந்தமும் ஒன்று என்றும் அகத்தியர் புலத்தியருக்குக் கூறுகிறார்.  அப்போது ஒருவர் தான் வேறு இறைவன் வேறு அல்ல என்பதை உணருகிறார்.  அவரது உருவம் சித்தானந்தமாக ஆனந்த போதமாக இருக்கும், இதுவே நிர்விகல்பம் என்றும் கூறுகிறார் அகத்தியர்.  இங்கு நிர்விகல்பம் என்று கூறுவது நிர்விகல்ப சமாதி அல்ல.  சமாதி என்பது யோகத்தில் அடையும் ஒரு நிலை.  இந்த நிர்விகல்பம் என்பது தானே அவனாகுதல்.  இங்கு குறிப்பிடப்படுவதே சிதானந்த ரூபம்.
