468. Joining the akara ukara into omkara

Verse 468

பேணிப்பார் பஞ்சகர்த்தாள் அஞ்சுமொன்றாய்

பிலமாக நின்று விளையாடுதற்கு

பூணிப்பார் அகாரமென்ற சிவமாம் விந்தை

புத்தியுடன் பூரணமாய்ப் பூசை பண்ணி

ஊணிப்பார் அதன் பிறகு உகார சத்தி

ஓமெனவே தான் செபித்து உறுதிபெற்றால்

ஆணிமாத்த திகமதாய் பஞ்ச பூதம்

அப்பனே பூரணமா யாகும்பாரே

Translation:

Consider the five actors as one

To play firmly

The akara, the Sivam is the bindu

Performing fully complete puja

Look carefully the ukara sakti

If om is chanted and became strong,

The five elements will be supremely pure

Son, they will become poornam, See.

Commentary:

Bindu is the primordial form.  It is Sivam.  It is the locus or the point of emergence from which emerged the five elements.  Also, the actions of five elements occur in the world which also originated from the bindu.  Agatthiyar says that this bindu is akara, Sivam.  These elements are activated by Sakti, the ukara.  Thus, akara and ukara, the bindu and nadha together remain as the five elements in their functional state.  Omkara brings the akara and the ukara together thus resulting in a state of singularity.  It brings together bindu and nadha or Siva and Sakti.  Thus, omkara makes the five elements reach the fully complete state or poornam.

பிந்து என்பது ஆதி உரு.  இதிலிருந்துதான் உலகம் ஒரு உருவுடன் பிறக்கிறது. இந்த பிந்து அகாரம் அல்லது சிவம் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.  இந்த பிந்துவுக்கு சக்தியளிப்பது உகாரம்.  இவ்வாறு அகார உகாரங்கள் அல்லது பிந்து நாதங்கள் செயல்படும் உலகமாக இருக்கின்றன.  பஞ்ச பூதங்களும் அவ்வாறே செயல்படுகின்றன.  அவற்றின் உருவம் அகாரம், செயல்பாடு உகாரம்.  இந்த அகார உகாரங்கள் ஒன்றாகச் சேர்ந்து ஓம்காரம் அல்லது ஒருமை நிலையை அடைகின்றன.  இவ்வாறு பஞ்சபூதங்களைச் சேர்த்தால் அவை பூரண நிலையை அடைவதைக் காணலாம் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
