26. Bhutha siddhi, Merugiri, Chaturagiri and Kailaya

Verse 26

காரப்பா அஞ்சு பஞ்ச பூதந்தன்னை

கண் குவித்து மனக்கண்ணால் கருவாய்ப் பார்த்தால்

மேரப்பா மேருகிரி காணலாகும்

மேரான சதுரகிரி விலாசந் தோணும்

ஆரப்பா உனக்கீடு சொல்லப் போறேன்

அரகரா பூதவகை அறிந்து கொண்டால்

நேரப்பா நின்ற கைலாசந் தோன்றும்

நிஜமான ஞான இந்திரியங்கேளே

Trasnaltion:

See son, the five elements and their nature

By focusing the mind’s eye and see their essence

The Meru peak will become visible

The locus of Chaturgiri will become visible.

Son, who can I say is equivalent to you

Araharaa! If (you know) about the elements/if the elements are known

The truthful Kailasam will appear.

Hear about the jnanendriya.

Commentary:

This interesting verse explains various peaks that are referred to frequently in Siddha poems.  Meru peak, Chaturagiri, Kailaya etc are referred to frequently in the siddhar songs.  Meru is said to be a mythical mountain around which the entire universe is said to revolve.  It is really the spinal chord that houses the sushumna nadi.  Chaturagiri, similarly is the energy peak in the muladhara.  By understanding the true nature of the elements one perceives the sushumna nadi, the muladhara and ultimately Kailasa or sahasrara.  This is the path of kundalini.  Thus Bhuta siddhi grants a yogi the knowledge about the manifested world. 

இந்த முக்கியமான பாடலில் அகத்தியர் சித்தர் பாடல்களில் காணப்படும் பல சிகரங்களைப் பற்றிக் கூறுகிறார்.  மேரு கிரி, சதுரகிரி, மகேந்திர கிரி, கைலாயம் என்ற பெயர்கள் சித்தர்பாடல்களில் அடிக்கடி காணப்படுகின்றன. மேரு கிரி என்பது ஒரு மலை என்றும் அதனைச் சுற்றி உலகங்கள் அமைந்துள்ளன என்றும் சூரியனும் அதைச்சுற்றிப் பயணிக்கிறது என்றும் புராணங்களும் பல கதைகளும் கூறுகின்றன.  உண்மையில் மேரு என்பது நமது தண்டுவடம். அதனுள் சுழுமுனை நாடி உள்ளது.  அதேபோல் சதுரகிரி என்பது மூலாதாரத்தைக் குறிக்கும்.  இவ்வாறு இந்த கிரிகளை ஒருவர் பூத சித்தி பெற்றால், பூதங்களின் உண்மையான தன்மையை உணர்ந்தால் அறியலாம்.  கைலாயம் என்பது சஹாஸ்ராரத்தைக் குறிக்கும்.  இதனால் பூத சித்தி அடைந்த ஒருவர் கண்ணால் காணும் உலகைப் படைக்கும் சக்திகளின் தன்மைகளை உணர்ந்து குண்டலினியின் பாதையை உணரலாம்.  உலகம் எவ்வாறு தோன்றுகிறது என்பதை உணரலாம்.
