Verse 18

தானான யோகமொடு சமாதி தீக்ஷை

சத்தியொடு சிவ தீக்ஷை வாலை தீக்ஷை

தேனான பூரணமாம் மவுன தீக்ஷை

திருவான பஞ்சகண தீக்ஷையோடு

ஊனான முப்பூவாம் வழலை தீக்ஷை

உண்மையுள்ள வினோத வகை மோடியங்கம்

பூனான மையுடனே திலதவாடை

போக்கான மறைப்புடனே இன்னங் கேளே

Translation:

Along with yoga, Samadhi deeksha

Sakthi, siva and vaalai deeksha

The deeksha of silence, that of fully complete,

Along with the deeksha of five elements

The vazhalai deeksha which is the muppoo, the body,

The truthful strange ways of “modiyangam”

The unction, the thilathavaadai

Commentary:

Agatthiyar is talking about the various topics that he will be talking about in this work.  They involve several types of deeksha or initiations such Siva deeksha, Sakthi deeksha, Vaalai deeksha etc.  Initiations refer to specific procedures that should be followed to attain a certain state.  They are like steps that one goes through before reaching the supreme state. Agattiyar says that he will also discuss herbal preparations in this work.

அகத்தியர் தான் இந்த நூலில் கூறப்போகும் விஷயங்களை இப்பாடலிலும் தொடருகிறார். சௌமிய சாகரம் என்ற இந்த நூலில் அவர் பல வகையான தீட்சைகளையும் மூலிகை தயாரிப்புக்களையும்  கூறப்போகிறேன் என்கிறார்.
