98. Charlatans who pretend that they are performing kriya

Verse 98

தயங்குவார் நதி மூழ்கி நீர் தெளித்து

தன்மையுடன் நீறணிந்து ஸ்நானம் பண்ணி

மயங்குவார் இருவிழியுமூடிக்கொண்டு

மணிஎடுத்துத் தானாட்டி மதங்கள் பேசி

தியங்குவார் அக்கிரமம் பிடித்தே அந்தச்

சிவநிலை அறியாத திருடர் தானும்

தயங்கு விந்து வாதாரம் பாரமற்றான்

நாடுகளிற் தான் திரிவார் நயந்து தள்ளே

Translation:

They will hesitate, immersing in the river, sprinkling water

Adorning the sacred ash, bathing

They will be delusional closing both eyes

Taking the bell and ringing it speaking mad words

They will cheat, the charlatans

They are the thieves who do not know the state of Siva

Without seeing the pausing bindhu adhara

They will roam around in the land.  Push them away.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar is describing those who perform various rituals calling them kriya.  Such people will bathe in sacred waters, wear the sacred ash, sound the bell and talk useless words.  Agatthiyar says that they are souls who do not know “siva nilai” or the state of siva.  They do not see the bindhu that is paused as a body, and the adhara or support/cakra.  Agatthiyar advises Pulatthiyar to dismiss them without any consideration.

கிரியை என்று கூறிக்கொண்டு பல சடங்குகளை செய்தபடி திரியும் திருடர்களைப் பற்றிப் பேசுகிறார் அகத்தியர்.  இம்மக்கள் நதிகளிலும் நீர்நிலைகளிலும் மூழ்கி எழுந்து திருநீறணிந்து மணியடித்து பெரும் சடங்குகள் செய்வதாகப் போலி நாடகம் ஆடி வெறும் பேச்சைப் பேசியபடி திரிவார்கள் அவர்கள் சிவநிலை அறியாத திருடர்கள் அவர்கள் ஒரு உயிரும் உடலுமாக நிற்கும் விந்துவைப் பற்றியும் ஆதாரங்களைப் பற்றியும் அறியாத மூடர்கள் என்று அவர்களைச் சாடும் அகத்தியர் புலத்தியர் அவர்களைத் தள்ளவேண்டும் என்று அறிவுரை கூறுகிறார்.
