88. vaasi comes under control

Verse 88

எண்ணியிரு நூற்றெட்டதில் மைந்தா கேளு

ஏகாந்த மானகுரு இன்பந் தன்னில்

பொன்னொளிபோல் அருவுருவங் கண்ணிற் காணும்

புத்தியுடன் அவ்வேளை புருவ மேவிற்

கண்ணொளிவுந் தன்னொளிவாய் உன்னை நோக்கி

தன்னொளிவு போலவே நீ உருவே செய்தால்

தாயான வாசியது தனதாங் காணே

Translation:

Hear son, remain so in the hundred and eight/ counting two hundered and eight times

In the singular bliss of guru

The formless form will be visible like a golden light

Going to the brow with buddhi

Seeing yourself as the effulgence

If you recite secretly

The vaasi, the mother, will become yours, see.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar talks about the number of times one has to recite vasi at the beginning of the verse.  When one recites the mantra vasi 108 times one will remain in the state of bliss.  It is not clear whether on has to recite it 208 times or 108 times with mental focus.  A preceptor will be able to clarify this.  When this chanting is performed then the formlessform of the divine will become visible.  When the yogin raises his consciousness to the brow he will see the Self as effulgence.  Then vasi or the life force will be under the control of the yogi.  He will not have to draw it from an external source.

இப்பாடலின் தொடக்கத்தில் அகத்தியர் குரு தியானத்தின்போது எத்தனை முறை வசி என்று செபிக்கவேண்டும் என்கிறார்.  இந்த மந்திரத்தை ஒருவர் நூற்றியெட்டு முறை உச்சரித்தால் ஒருவர் ஆனந்தநிலையை அடைவார் என்றும் அருவுருவான இறைவனைக் காணலாம் என்றும் அவர் கூறுகிறார்.  இது நூற்றியெட்டு முறை செபித்து எண்ணி இருக்கவேண்டுமா அல்லது இருநூற்றிஎட்டு முறை செபிக்க வேண்டுமா என்பதை குருமுகமாக அறியவேண்டும்.  இந்த பயிற்சியின்போது ஒருவர் தனது உணர்வை புருவ மத்திக்கு உயர்த்தினால் ஒளிப் பிரகாசத்தைக் காணலாம், வாசி தன்வசப்படும் என்கிறார்.
