94. Sivalaya and the benefit of worshipping there

Verse 94

தானென்ற பூரகத்தின் கீழதாகச்

சபையான சிவாலயங்கள் நதிகளுண்டு

கோனென்ற அனாகதமாம் மயிர்ப்பாலத்தப்பால்

கொள்கிநின்ற சிவாலயங்கள் நதிகளுண்டு

வானென்ற வாசிமலர் தனையெடுத்து

மகத்தான சிவாலயத்தைப் பூசை பண்ணி

தேனென்ற உடலுயிரை அறியாமற்றான்

திகைத்தபடி மாய்கையிலே திரிவார்பாரே

Translation:

Below the poorakam (manipuraka), the self

There are Siva temples and rivers

The king, the anahatah, beyond the hair-like bridge

There are Siva temples and rivers

Taking the flower of vaasi, the space

Worship the Sivalaya.

Without knowing the honey, the body and the soul

They roam around in maya dumbfounded.

Commentary:

As before Agatthiyar says that there are Siva temples and sacred rivers below the manipurakam and above the anahatha.  He calls the nadi that runs towards the head as “hairbridge” because they very thin and subtle.  He tells Pulathiyar to perform worship rituals there, that is visit these sites through kundalini yoga.  Those who do not know this, the secret about the body, the soul, the sites of consciousness and the honey that oozes from the sahasrara roam around dumbfounded by maya.  Knowledge and experience of these will cut the influence of maya.

முன்னமே கூறியபடி மணி பூரகத்துக்குக் கீழேயும் அனாகதத்துக்கு மேலேயும் சிவாலயங்களும் நதிகளும் இருக்கின்றன என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.  இங்கு ஓடும் நாடிகள் நுண்மையாக இருப்பதனால் அவற்றை மயிர்ப்பாலங்கள் என்கிறார்.  இந்தக் கோயில்களில் வாசி மலர் கொண்டு பூசை செய்யவேண்டும் என்கிறார் அவர்.  இதை அறியாத மக்கள் உடல், உயிர், மேலிருந்து ஊரும் அமுதம் ஆகியவற்றைப் பற்றித் தெரிந்துகொள்ளாமல் மாயையின் தாக்கத்தால் மதியிழந்து திகைத்துத் திரிவர் என்கிறார் அவர்.
