446. Puja of Bhuvana

Verse 446

புவனை பூசை

சித்தித்த பூசையடா தேவி பூசை

திக்கெட்டும் வெத்தியடா இந்த பூசை

பத்தித்த பூசையடா தப்போ இல்லை

பதியறிந்த மந்திரவாள் தன்னை நீயும்

புத்திக்குள் இதையறிந்து பூசை பண்ணு

பூமி முதல் ஆகாசமட்டும் பெற்ற தாயி

முத்திகேள் முத்தியடா அறிவைப் பாரு

முன்னவள்தான் கண்ணிறைந்த மூலந்தானே

Translation:

Worship of Bhuvana

The Devi puja that became fruitful,

Victory in all the eight directions.  This puja

Is with devotion.  There are no mistakes.

Knowing the locus, the magical sword

You worship within the intellect- knowing the locus

The mother who birthed, from the earth to the sky

Listen about mukthi, the liberation.  See the awareness

She, the origin, is the origin who fills the eye.

Commentary:

Bhuvana is Sakti who manifests as the universe.  This verse talks about her worship.  In SriVidya Devi is worshipped as Bala first, then as Bhuvana and then as Tripura.  This represents increasing order of energy.  Agatthiyar says that Bhuvana is worshipped with buddhi or intellect. She is the mother who gave rise to the manifested world.

புவனை என்பவள் உலகமாகப் பரிமளிக்கும் சக்தி.  அவளது பூஜையை இப்பாடல் விளக்குகிறது.  ஸ்ரீவித்யா மார்க்கத்தில் தேவி முதலில் பாலையாகவும் அடுத்து புவனையாகவும் முடிவில் திரிபுரையாகவும் வழிபடப்படுகிறாள்.  இந்த புவனையே உலகைப் பெற்றெடுத்த தாய்.  அவளது பூசை சகல வெற்றியையும் அளிக்கும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
