148. Roma rishi, Brahmamuni

Verse 148

ஆமப்பா அந்தநாள் பதின்கோடி மீண்டால்

அருமையுள்ள ரோமரிஷிக்கு ஒரு ரோமம் உதிரும்

தாமடா ரோமமது மூன்றரையாங்கோடி

சரியாக உதிரும்போ அவர் மரணமாவார்

நாமடா வந்தநாள் மூவிரட்டியானால்

நலமான பிரமமுனியவர்க்குப் பூசை வேளை

ஓமடா சிவபூசை எழுநூறு மீண்டால்

உள்ள முனி ரிஷிகளுக்கு ஒரு நாளுமாமே

Translation:

Yes, Son, if ten crore such days go by

One of the hairs of Romarishi will fall

When three and a half crores of such hair

Fall, he will die.

If six such days go by

It becomes the time for worship for Brahma muni

If seven hundred Siva puja occur

It will be one day for the remaining muni and rishi.

Commentary:

This verse talks about Romarishi we have all heard about.  Agatthiyar says that if ten crore days that he described in the previous verse go by then Romarishi will lose one hair.  When he loses three and a half crores of his hair then he will die.  Brahma muni is next in line and Agatthiyar calls his termination as Siva puja.  If 700 Siva pujas occur then it will be one day for rishi and muni who have a longer life span. 

Based on the number of mala or innate impurities souls are classified as vijnanakala, pralayakala and sakala.  We are the sakala and our life span is determined by the scale of minutes, hours, days etc that we are familiar of.  Pralayakala are souls that terminate when pralaya or dissolution occurs.  The Vijnanakalas are souls that live beyond the pralaya but they are also not eternal.  The rishis and munis mentioned in the previous verses seem to belong to the category, pralayakala while the rishis and munis mentioned here are vijnanakala.  The three types of souls seem to function in different time scales.

இப்பாடல் அகத்தியர் நம்மில் பெரும்பாலோர் அறிந்த ரோமரிஷியைப் பற்றிப் பேசுகிறார்.  முன் பாடலில் கூறிய நாளில் பத்து கோடி கழிந்தால் ரோமரிஷிக்கு ஒரு முடி உதிரும் என்றும் அவரது மூன்றரைக் கோடி முடிகள் உதிரும்போது அவர் இறப்பார் என்றும் அகத்தியர் கூறுகிறார்.  இவரை அடுத்து பிரம்ம முனி என்பவரைப் பற்றியும் அகத்தியர் கூறுகிறார். 

உயிர்கள் அவற்றின் மலத்தின் எண்ணிக்கையைப் பொருத்து விஞ்ஞான கலர், பிரளயகலர் சகலர் என்று மூவகைப்படுவர்.  நாம் அனைவரும் சகலர்கள்.  நமது கால அளவு நாம் அறிந்த வினாடி, மணி, நாள் என்று போகிறது.  பிரளயகலர்கள் என்பவர்கள் பிரளயகாலம் வரை இருப்பவர்கள்.  இவர்களது கால அளவுகளை நாம் முந்தைய பாடல்களில் பார்த்தோம்.  இப்பாடலில் குறிப்பிடப்படுபவர்கள் விஞ்ஞானகலர்கள்.  அவர்கள் மேற்கூறிய இரு வகையினரையும்விட அதிக நாட்கள் இருப்பவர்களானாலும் முடிவில் இறப்பைச் சந்திப்பவர்கள்தான்.  அதையே இப்பாடல் காட்டுகிறது.
