139. Conclusion and yuga

Verse 139

பாரான பார்தனிலே மனுவுண்டாக்கிப்

பதிவாக வந்தபின்பு அனேக சாஸ்திரம்

நேரான சாஸ்திரங்கள் சூத்திரங்கள்

நேர்மையுள்ள ரிஷி முனிவர் சித்தரெல்லாம்

மேரான கிரிதனிலே தபசு பண்ணி

வெகுகோடி காலம்வரை யோகஞ் செய்து

பேரான வெளியோடு வெளியாச் சேர்ந்தார்

பலமான காலயுகம் பேசக்கேளே

Translation:

Creating Manu in the world

After he emerged, several sastras

The truthful sastra, sutra (were created).

The honest rishi, muni and siddha

Performing tapas on the Meru Giri

Performing yogam for several crores of years

Joined the space becoming space themselves.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar concludes his exposition on creation by saying that following the creation of Manu several sastra, sutra etc were created and that rishi, muni and siddhas so created remained on Meru giri performing yoga for a very long time.  In the end they reached the state of space and merged with it.

From this verse we understand that the ultimate state or the end point is space and becoming space is the terminal goal.  Rishis, munis and siddhas are souls that are not touched by karma.  Hence, they spent their time in the state of yoga by raising their consciousness to the Meru Giri or the peak of consciousness.  By their choice they remained in the individual state or became space itself.  Agatthiyar starts to describe what is meant by yuga or eons.

படைப்பைப் பற்றிய தனது விளக்கங்களை அகத்தியர் மனுவைப் படைத்த பிறகு சாத்திரங்கள், சூத்திரங்கள் ஆகியவை படைக்கப்பட்டன என்று கூறி முடிக்கிறார்.  அவ்வாறு படைத்த பிறகு ரிஷி, முனி, சித்தர்கள் ஆகியோர் மேரு கிரி எனப்படும் உணர்வின் உச்சத்தில் பல கோடி யுகங்கள் யோகம் புரிந்து தாமே வெளியாகி வெளியுடன் கலந்தனர் என்கிறார் அவர்.  இதனால்  உச்ச நிலை என்பது வெளியாவது வெளியுடன் கலப்பது என்பது நமக்குக் காட்டப்படுகிறது.  சித்தர்கள், ரிஷிகள், முனிவர்கள் என்பவர்கள் கர்மத்தினால் தொடப்படாதவர்கள் என்பதும் புலப்படுகிறது.  விஞ்ஞானகலர், பிரளயகலர், சகலர் என்று ஆத்மாக்கள் மூவகைப்படுவர்.  ரிஷிகள், முனிவர்கள் ஆகியோர் விஞ்ஞானகலர் என்ற நிலையில் இருப்பவர்கள்.  இதனை அடுத்து அகத்தியர் யுகம் என்றால் என்ன என்று விளக்க ஆரம்பிக்கிறார்.
