Verse 140

கேளடா புலத்தியனே மைந்தா நீயும்

கெணிதமுள்ள யுகமதுதான் பதினெட்டப்பா

ஆளடா வரியினுகம் ஈரேழு கோடி

அற்புதனார் யுகமதுதான் ஈரைந்துகோடி

வாளடா தன்மயுகம் ஈராறு கோடி

மகத்தான ராசியுகம் ஈரெட்டு கோடி

காலடா யுகமெல்லாஞ் சொல்லி வாரேன்

கனமான வீராசன் நாலைந்து தானே

Translation:

Listen son, Pulatthiya!

The eons are eighteen

The vari yuga is two seven (fourteen) crores

The yuga of Arpudhanaar is two five (ten) crores

The thanma yuga is two six (twelve) crores

The great raasi yuga is two eight (sixteen) crores

Time, I am recouting all the yuga

The heavy veeraajan is four fives (twenty)

Commentary:

Agatthiyar is describing the different yugas or eons.  He is listing the yuga as follows:

Vari (14 crore years), arpudhanaar (ten crores), thanma (twelve crores), raasi (sixteen), veeraajan (twenty crore years).

இப்பாடலிலிருந்து அகத்தியர் யுகங்களைப் பட்டியலிடுகிறார்.  வரியுகம் 14 கோடி வருடங்கள், அற்புதனார் யுகம் 10 கோடி வருடங்கள், தன்ம யுகம் 12 கோடி யுகம், ராசி யுகம் 16 கோடி வருடங்கள்,  வீராசன் யுகம் 20 கோடி வருடங்கள் என்கிறார் அவர்.
