135. Vishnu muni granted boon

Verse 135

பாரான மறையோர்கள் வேள்வி செய்யப்

பதிவான விஷ்ணுமுனி  தோன்றிச்

சீராக வரங்கேளுமென்று சொன்னார்

ஜெகத்திலறு சுருதி மறையாகவேதான்

நேராக நாள் முகூர்த்தம் நன்றாய்ச்சொல்ல

நீதியுடன் எந்தன்சொல் மேலதாகப்

பேராக அந்தரத்தில் ஆருங்காணாப்

பெருமையுள்ள சோதிதனைப் பேசுங் காணே

Translation:

The vedics performed fire rituals

Vishnumuni appeared

And told them to ask for boon.

The six sruti appearing as Veda

With the day and time being auspicious

With my words becoming superior

In the suspended space

The glorious flame that is not seen by anyone

Will speak, See!

Commentary:

Agatthiyar says that Vishnu muni appeared before the vedics who performed the fire rituals and offered them boons.  The fire ritual may mean kundalini yoga where the fire of kundalini is raised.  This offers several boons such as mystical accomplishments and several states of consciousness.  The flame referred to here is the atma jyothi which transforms into param jyothi.

வேதியர்கள் வேள்வி செய்ய அங்கு விஷ்ணு முனி தோன்றி அவர்களிடம் வேண்டிய வரங்களைக் கேளுங்கள் என்றார் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.  இங்கு மறையோர் என்றது யோகிகளையும் அவர்கள் செய்யும் யோகம் குண்டலினி யோகம் என்றும் பொருள் கொள்ளலாம்.  இந்த வேள்வியினால் பல சித்திகளும் உணர்வு நிலைகளும் தோன்றுகின்றன.  அவற்றையே வரங்கள் என்று அகத்தியர் கூறுகிறார் போலும்.  இந்த வேள்வியினால் யாரும் காணாத சோதி பேசுவதைக் காணலாம் என்கிறார் அவர்.  இந்த சோதி பரஞ்சோதியாகும் ஆத்ம சோதியே.
