64. Origin of Atma jyothi

Verse 64

போடப்பா விந்து நடு ஓங்காரந்தான்

பூரணமாய் சிங்கிலி யொன்று நாட்டி

நாடப்பா விந்து நடு முனை மையத்தில்

நாடிநின்று சிங்கிலி என்று சொல்லி

வீடப்பா பிலப்பதற்கு தினம் நூற்றெட்டு

விரும்பி மன தரிவதினால் உருவே செய்தால்

சூடப்பா தானேறி முனை மையத்தில்

சூரியன்போல் காந்தி வெகு சோதியாமே

Translation:

Draw son, the bindu and the omkara in the middle

Establishing as sang kili

In the middle tip of the bindhu in the center

Uttering sing kili

To reach the house utter hundred and eight times

If recited with heart and mind that are interested

Heat will increase in the center of the tip

A brilliance like the sun, a flame, will occur.

Commentary:

This is an interesting verse that describes the origin of the flame that Agatthiyar and other Siddhas talk about frequently.  In this verse which describes the anahata practice, Agatthiyar mentions that the omkara and sang and kili are written in the middle of two interlocking triangles and these letters are uttered mentallyhundred and eight times.  Then heat will increase in the tip, which may be the ajna, and it will appear as a flame with the brilliance of the Sun.  This is the atma jyothi we read about in all the Siddha verses.

அனாகத பயிற்சியை விளக்கும் இப்பாடலில் அகத்தியர் சித்தர்கள் அனைவரும் கூறும் ஜோதி எவ்வாறு தோன்றுகிறது என்று விளக்குகிறார்.  மேற்கூறிய இரு முக்கோணங்களின் மத்தியில் ஓம்காரம் சங் கிலி  என்று எழுதி அந்த அட்சரங்களை மனதுள் நூற்றியெட்டு முறை செபிக்க வேண்டும் என்று கூறும் அகத்தியர் அவ்வாறு செய்தால் உள்ளே சூடேறி முனை எனப்படும் ஆக்னையில் சூரியனைப் போல ஒரு ஒளி தோன்றும் என்கிறார்.  இதைத்தான் பல நூல்கள் ஆத்ம ஜோதி என்கின்றன.
