174. Placing the body in the tomb

Verse 174

கேளடா எட்டெழுத்தைக் கால்தலையாய் மாறி

கிருபையுடன் நெற்றிதனிற் பட்டங் கட்டி

ஆளடா தூபமுடன் தீபஞ் செய்து

அருள்பெருக ரதமதின்மேல் அன்பாய் வைத்து

வாளடா மணியோசை சங்கினோசை

மகத்தான ஜெயகண்டி நாதஞ் செய்து

மேலடா சமாதி வலஞ் செய்து நல்ல

வேதாந்தமான நடுக் குகையில் வையே

Translation:

Listen son, reversing the order of the eight letters

Tie the foil on the forehead, with mercy

Wave the fragrant smoke and lamp

Place it over a chariot, with love

Sound the bell, conch

The victory plate,

Circumambulate the Samadhi

Place in the middle of the cave, the vedantha.

Commentary:

The rituals described in this verse are similar to those of the male yogi except that the body is place in the cave created in the west instead of the middle.

முன்னே ஆண் யோகிக்குக் கூறியதைப் போலவே பெண் யோகிக்கும் அபிடேகம் தூப தீபம் ஆகியவற்றைக் காட்டி ரதத்தில் வைத்து சமாதி இடத்துக்கு அழைத்து வரவேண்டும்.  பிறகு சமாதியில் மேற்குப் புறம் அமைத்த குகையில் வைக்கும் முன் சமாதியை மங்கள வாத்தியங்கள் முழங்க வலம் வரவேண்டும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
