Verse 168
எடுத்து நன்றாய்ப் பாதாதி கேசமட்டும்
இன்பமுடன் தான் தூளை கெட்டி செய்து
அடுத்து மிக பாதமுதல்புருவமட்டும்
அளவாகப் பொடியிட்டு வாழ்த்தி மைந்தா
தொடுத்து முகப் புருவமுதல் உச்சி மட்டும்
சொல்லுகிறேன் விபூதியில் கற் பூரஞ் சேர்த்து
கொட்டிமிக அமிழ்த்தி நன்றாய்த் தூபதீபங்
குருவாழ்க மூர்த்திகரமாவாய் என்ன
Translation:
Taking it (the
triple powder)
From head to
toe and make it firm.
After that
from foot to eyebrows
Add the powder
while praising him
From eyebrows
to the top of the head
Take sacred
ash and camphor together
Pour it, make
it firm, show fragrant smoke and lamp
Saying, “Praise
to the guru. Please beome the embodiment
of Murthy.”
Commentary:
The triple
powders of stone, brick and sacred ash are added to the body while tapping it
to make it firm. The body is covered
from feet to the eyebrows with this powder.
From the eyebrows to the top of the head a mixture of sacred ash and
camphor is added. Fragrant smoke and
lamp are waved saying, “Praise to the Guru.
Please become Murthy.”
கல் பொடி, செங்கல் பொடி, விபூதி ஆகிய மூன்றால் ஆனா பொடியை
கால் முதல் புருவம் வரை சேர்த்து கெட்டிப்படுத்தவேண்டும் என்கிறார்
அகத்தியர். புருவம் முதல் உச்சிவரை உள்ள
பகுதிக்கு விபூதி மற்றும் கற்பூரத்தால் ஆன பொடியைச் சேர்த்து தூப தீபம் காட்டி, “குருவே
போற்றி நீர் மூர்த்திகரமாக வேண்டும்” என்று வாழ்த்த வேண்டும் என்றும் அவர்
கூறுகிறார்.
