49. Siva and Sakthi components of the 96 instruments

Verse 49

ஆச்சப்பா உட்கருவி முப்பத்தாறும்

அப்பே சிவத்தினுட கூறேயாச்சு

நீச்சப்பா புறக்கருவி அறுவதுதான்

நிசமான சக்தியுட கூறேயாச்சு

பேச்சப்பா உள்வெளியும் நன்றாய்ப் பார்த்து

பெருமையுடன் ஆதார நிலையுங் கண்டு

காச்சப்பா கருவி கரணாதி என்று

காடான தத்துவத்தைக் கண்டு தேரே

Translation:

Son, the inner instruments thirty six

Son, they are components of Siva

The external instruments sixty

They are Sakthi’s components

Speech, seeing the inside and outside well,

Seeing the status of the adhara

 Boil the instruments and the senses

Learn and become an expert of the tattva, the forest.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar classifies the tattva or instruments into two categories.  The thirty six instruments, the internal ones represent Siva as they are static in nature.  The sixty external instruments through which the internal instruments function are Sakthi’s components as they represent the active part.  Knowing this principle Agatthiyar tells Pulatthiyar that he should boil or nullify the instruments and thus the tattva which are like the forest that make one get lost in worldly distractions. 

மொத்த தத்துவங்கள் 96ல் உட்கருவிகளான 36 தத்துவங்கள் சிவனின் கூறு என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.  இந்த கருவிகள் வெளியிலிருந்து பெரும் அறிவினால் இயங்குகின்றன.  வெளிக்கருவிகளான 60 சக்தியின் கூறு ஏனெனில் அவை செயல்பட்டு அறிவை ஏற்படுத்துகின்றன.  இந்த சூட்சுமத்தை நன்கு அறிந்து கருவிகளையும் கரணங்கள் எனப்படும் மனத்தில் மாறுபாடுகளையும் நன்கு காய்ச்சுமாறு அகத்தியர் புலத்தியருக்குக் கூறுகிறார்.  அவ்வாறு செய்தால் காடு போல் வழிதவறி உலகில் உழலச் செய்யும் தத்துவங்களை அறிந்து தேறலாம் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
