Verse 41

கூறாக ஆகாசக் கூறு தன்னை

குறியுடனே சொல்லுகிறேன் குணமாய்க்கேளு

நேராகக் குரோதமொடு லோபம் மோகம்

நிசமான வாச்சரிய மதமுமைந்து

ஊரான ஆதாரந் தன்னைப் பார்த்து

உத்தமனே தானாவாய் நின்றாயானால்

தேராக வாசியது தேரும் தேரும்

சிவபூதம் ஐந்து தொழில் இருத்தல் ஐந்து

Translation:

The derivatives of the space principle

I will tell you with identification.  Hear carefully

Along with anger, miserliness, desire

The pride and jealousy are the five,

See the adhara the town

The good one! If you see them as self

The vaasi will become significant

Siva bhuta are five and the actions are five.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar mentions that the five qualities of kama, krodha, moha, madham and mascharya are contain elements of space principle.  These are not actions themselves but qualities that lead to actions.  Akasha is the substratum of the other elements.  Similarly these qualities are the substratum for actions.  Agatthiyar mentions another important point here.  He says that the elements of bhuta correspond to Siva principle and their actions correspond to Sakthi principle.

காமம், குரோதம், மோகம், மதம், மாச்சரியம் என்ற ஐந்து குணங்களும் ஆகாசத்தின் கூறை உடையவை என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.  ஆகாய தத்துவம் பிற தத்துவங்களுக்கு அடிப்படையாக இருப்பது.  அதேபோல் இந்த குணங்கள் செயல்களுக்கு அடிப்படையாக இருக்கின்றன.  இப்பாடலில் அகத்தியர் மற்றொரு முக்கியமான விஷயத்தைக் கூறுகிறார்.  பூதங்கள் அனைத்தும் சிவனின் கூறு என்றும் அவற்றின் செயல்பாடு சக்தித் தத்துவம் என்றும் அவர் கூறுகிறார்.
