523. Further processing of rasa

Verse 523

ஆட்டவே சூதமது வெண்ணையாகும்

அரை பச்சை பூநாகம் அரைத்துக்கொண்டு

கூட்டவே குகைபோலே செய்து மைந்தா

குருவான ரசவெண்ணை அதற்குள் வைத்து

நாட்டவே அவிபுடமாய் பத்து போட்டால்

நல்லரசந்தானிருகி கல்லுப் போலாம்

வாட்ட கருவுமத்தின் காயில் வைத்து

மைந்தனே முன்போலே புடத்தைப் போடே

Translation:

Grinding together the soodham will become butter-like

Grinding green poonagam

Making a structure like a cave, Son,

Keeping the butter of rasa within it

Do ten pudam

It will melt and become stone-like

Keeping it in the “karuvumatthu kaai”

Son, do pudam as before.

Commentary:

The mercury, when ground with the materials listed above becomes butter-like.  To this is added green bhunadham and incubated.  The philosophical interpretation for this is as follows:  The mind, consciousness, rasa the stored prapancha prana sakti and the breath are centered at the sushumna.  The snake or poonaagam is kundalini sakti.  The ten pudam is pranayama number.  This will result in the rasa solidifying.  Karuvamatthin kaai may be the result of pride or ahamkara, the anava. 

ரசத்தை மேற்கூறிய பொருட்களுடன் சேர்த்து அரைத்தால் அது வெண்ணெய்போல் ஆகும்.  அதை பூநாகத்துடன் சேர்த்து அரைத்து குகையில் இட்டு புடம் போடவேண்டும்.  அதன் பிறகு அதை கருவமத்தின் காயில் வைத்து புடமிடவேண்டும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.  இதன் தத்துவ விளக்கவுரை:  புத்தி, பிராணன், உணர்வு, ரசம் எனப்படும் சுக்கிலம் ஆகியவற்றை சுழுமுனை நாடியில் மத்தியப்படுத்தி மேற்கூறியவாறு அதை கூட்டினால் ரசம் வெண்ணையைப் போல உருகியிருக்கும்.  அத்துடன் பூநாகம் எனப்படும் குண்டலினி சக்தியை சேர்த்து பத்து புடம் எனப்படும் வழிமுறையில் பிராணாயாமத்தைச் செய்தால் ரசம் கெட்டிப்படும்.  அத்துடன் கர்வம் எனப்படும் அகங்காரத்தின் காய் நிலையான ஆணவத்தைச் சேர்க்கவேண்டும்.
