518. Monism

Verse 518 

என்றுதான் இருந்தபடி இருந்ததெல்லாம்

என்மகனே இனிமேலே வேறுண்டாச்சோ

அன்றுதான் இன்றுவரை ஒன்றேயல்லால்

ஆடினதும் அடங்கினதும் அதுதான் பாரு

ஒன்றுதான் பல பொருளாய் விரிந்து நின்று

ஓடிமிக அடங்கினதும் ஒன்றுதானே

நின்றபடியிது போதங் கண்டுகொண்டு

நிச்சயமென்று உச்சிதமாய் நின்றுகாணே

Translation:

This is the way how everything stands

Is there any other that occurred? Son?

From then to now this is the only one (way/manner/entity)

It is that which danced and which abided

It is only one entity which expanded as many

Running greatly it is the one which abided

Seeing this bodham (knowledge) remaining firmly

See it as definititude, as the correct (theory).

Commentary:

Agatthiyar confirms that the Tamil Siddha philosophy is monistic in this verse.  He says that it is only one entity, the Supreme that expanded as several.  It is the only entity that exists, all others are its transformations.  It is the singular entity which acted as many and finally abided in the state of singularity.  This is the bodham, the knowledge, the awareness or chith.  Agatthiyar tells Pulathiyar to remain firmly and see this truth.

சித்தர்கள் தத்துவம் அத்விதம் என்பதை இப்பாடல் உறுதிசெய்கிறது.  ஜீவனும் ஈஸ்வரனும் வேறு வேறு என்று கூறுவது துவிதம்.  எங்கும் இருப்பது ஒரே வஸ்துதான்.  அதுதான் பலவாக விரிந்து, பல செயல்களைப் பிரிந்து முடிவில் ஒருமை நிலையில் அடங்குகிறது.  இதுதான் உண்மையான அறிவு, போதம்.  இதை நிலையாக நின்று நிச்சயம் என்பதாகக் காணவேண்டும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
