47. Path of prakriti and bindhu

Verse 47

கேளப்பா ராசதமுந் தாமதமும் மைந்தா

கிருபையுள்ள சாத்துவிகம் குணங்கள் மூன்றும்

வாளப்பா முக்குணங்கள் அறிந்துகொண்டு

வரிசையுடன் விந்தினுட வழியைக் கேளு

சூளப்பா பைசந்தி மத்திமை வைகரியுஞ்

சூக்குமையும் நாலுமிது வாக்கேயாகும்

ஆளப்பா வாக்காதி நாலும் பார்த்து

அரகரா ஆதாரந் தன்னைக் காணே.

Translation:

Listen son rajas, tamas

The merciful satvika are the three qualities

Knowing about the three qualities

Listen to the path of the bindhu

They are paisanthi, matthimai, vaikari

And sookshma are the four vaak

Seeing the four types of vaak

Araharaa see the adhara.

Commentary:

In this verse Agatthiyar is listing the three qualities satva, rajas and tamas.  He is also mentions the four types of speech the sukshma or para, paisanthi or pashyanthi, maddhimai or madhyama and vaikari.  He says that the four types of speech are the path of the bindu or the primodial form.  All the principles that he has described so far form the basis or substratum of a body and its functioning.  Next he will be explaining these adhara further.

இப்பாடலில் அகத்தியர் முக்குணங்களான சத்துவம், ரஜஸ், தமஸ் என்ற மூன்றையும்முதலில் குறிப்பிடுகிறார்.  அதன் பிறகு விந்துவின் கதியான வாக்கைப் பற்றிக் கூறுகிறார்.  வாக் அல்லது பேச்சு பரா அல்லது சூட்சுமம், பஷ்யந்தி, மத்திமை மற்றும் வைகரி என்று நான்கு வகைப்படும்.  மேற்கூறிய தத்துவங்கள் அனைத்தும் ஒரு உருவத்துக்கும் அதன் செயல்பாட்டுக்கும் ஆதாரங்களாக இருக்கின்றன.  இவற்றின் தன்மைகளை அடுத்த பாட்டில் அவர் விளக்குகின்றார்.
