125. creation of other elements and the sun

Verse 125

பாரான திருமாலைப் பார்க்கும்போது

பதிவான அகண்ட மேகம் படைத்து நின்றார்

ஆரான பிரம்மனையும் நோக்கும்போது

அளவற்ற பூமிதனைப் படைத்து நின்றார்

நேரான சத்திதனைக் கண்ணால் மேவி

நிஜமான சூரியனைப் படைத்து நின்றார்

பேரான சிவமதுவும் பதியாய் நின்ற

பெருமையுடன் எழுவரதி காரங் காணே

Translation:

When he (Paramasiva) looked at Thirumal the world

He created the wide clouds

When he looked Brahma

He created the limitless earth

Looking at the Sakthi

He created the true Sun

The Sivam remained as

The locus glorious. See the authority of the seven.

Commentary:

In the previous verse Agatthiyar explained that space was created by Sadasiva, Maheswara created air principle and Rudra created fire.  In this verse he mentions that Vishnu created the clouds that led to water principle and Brahma created the earth.  Paramasiva who caused these creations did so by looking at Vishnu.  Then he looked at Sakthi and Sun was created.  Thus, Sun was created directly by Paramasiva.  After the creation of the elements and hence their qualities Paramasiva stood as the locus that supports all these principles. 

Paramasiva is called akaasha.  Akaasha is that which has light and space.  Thus Paramasiva is veLi oLi.  Akaasha is that which gives space for everything.  Paramasiva is the substratum that supports everything, material and non material in nature.  Agatthiyar is beginning to describe the authority that the seven deities, beginning with Sadasiva have, the duties they perform.

முந்தைய பாடலில் அகத்தியர் வானம் சதாசிவனாலும் காற்று மகேசுவரனாலும் தீ உருத்திரனாலும் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டன என்றார்.  இப்பாடலில் அவர், விஷ்ணு நீர்த்தத்துவத்தை உருவாக்கும் மேகத்தை ஏற்படுத்தினார் என்றும் பிரம்மா பூமி தத்துவத்தைப் படைத்தார் என்றும் கூறுகிறார்.  பரமசிவனார் இவையனைத்தையும் விஷ்ணுவைப் பார்த்து படைத்தார்.  அடுத்து அவர் சக்தியைப் பார்த்தார். அதனால் சூரியன் தோன்றியது.  இவ்வாறு சூரியன் பரமசிவனால் நேரடியாகப் படைக்கப்பட்டது.  இவ்வாறு பூதங்களையும் சூரியனையும் படைத்த பிறகு பரம சிவன் அவையனைத்தையும் தாங்குபவராக நின்றார். 

பரமசிவனை ஆகாசம் என்று சித்தர்கள் அழைக்கின்றனர்.  ஆகாசம் என்பது ஒளியும் வெளியும் கொண்டது.  இவ்வாறு பரமசிவனார் வெளி ஒளியாக இருக்கிறார்.  ஆகாயம் அனைத்துக்கும் இடமளிப்பதாக அனைத்தையும் தாங்குவதாக உள்ளது.  பரமசிவனும் அனைத்தையும் தன்னில் தாங்குகிறார்.

இதனை அடுத்து அகத்தியர் ஏழு தேவதைகளின் அதிகாரத்தையும் விளக்கப்போகிறார்.
