120. Continuation of the previous verse

Verse 120

காணவே வேதநெறி இல்லாக்காலங்

கருவான சாஸ்திரம் ஆறு இல்லாக்காலம்

பூணவே உபதேசம் இல்லாக்காலம்

புண்ணிய பாவங்கள் இரண்டும் இல்லாக்காலம்

பேணவே குலநெறிகள் இல்லாக் காலம்

பெருகிநின்ற மந்திரங்கள் இல்லாக்காலம்

தோணவே சொன்னதெல்லாம் உண்டாய் நின்ற

சூக்ஷமதைச் சொல்லுகிறேன் சுகமாய்க் கேளே

Translation:

The time when the Vedic rules did not exist

The time when the essence, the six sastras did not exist

The time when the upadesa was not present

The time when good and bad fortunes (punya and papa) did not exist

The time when the kuladharma did not exist

The time when the great many mantra did not exist

The time when everything was created

I will tell you that subtlety, listen comfortably.

Commentary:

This is verse is an extension of the previous verse where Agatthiyar described the time before creation.  He lists all other entities that did not exist at that time.

முந்தைய பாடலின் தொடர்ச்சியாக இப்பாடலில் அகத்தியர் சிருஷ்டி தொடங்குவதற்கு முன் எவையெல்லாம் இல்லாமல் இருந்தன என்று கூறுகிறார்.
