115. Before the birth of the seven...

Verse 115
தானென்ற ஆதியந்த விளக்கந்தன்னைச்
சங்கையுடன் சொல்லுகிறேன் தயவாய்க் கேளு
வானென்ற உலகமதில் மைந்தா மைந்தா
மகத்தான் எழுவகையின் தோற்றந் தானும்
கோனென்ற ஜகமதிலே பிறக்குமுன்னே
குருவான பரமிருந்த குறியைமைந்தா
ஊனென்ற திருமுடியும் அடியுந்த தன்னை
உத்தமனே சொல்லுகிறேன் உறுதி கேளே

Translation:
I will explain about the self, the origin terminus entity
Hear about it please.
In the world, the sky, Son! Son!
The emergence of the seven types-
Before they were born in the world
Son, the signs of the way the Param, the guru remained,
The body of it- its head and feet
The Good one!  I will tell you.  Hear it with fortitude.

Commentary:
Agatthiyar says that before life emerged in this world only the Param remained.  The seven types of life forms are devas, humans, animals, those that crawl, those that live in water, birds and plants.

In Indian medicine the development of a fetus in the womb is divided into seven stages based on its movement.  They are muladhara (3 weeks), svadishtana (3-6 weeks), manipuraka (6-12 weeks), anahata (12-24 weeks), vishuddham (24-30 weeks) ajna (30-38 weeks) and sahasram (over 39 weeks) (http://movingmoon.com/node/36).  This classification is applicable in this verse where the Divine, the consciousness, the origin of everything, exists solely before these stages.

The seven may also mean the seven states, Siva, Sakthi, Sadasiva, Maheswara, Rudra, Vishnu and Brahma.  These are seven states of consciousness.  Before the emergence of these seven states only Param remained.

இப்பாடலில் அகத்தியர் உலகம் தோன்றுவதற்கு முன் ஆதியந்த வஸ்துவின் நிலையைக் கூறுகிறார்.  எழு வகைகள் தோன்றுவதற்கு முன் வானமான அது மட்டுமே இருந்தது என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.  வானம் என்பது ஆகாயம்.  ஆகாயம் என்ற சொல் ஆ+காசம் அல்லது பரந்து விரியும் ஒளி, நிலம் என்று பொருள்படும்.  ஏழுவகை என்பது ஏழு வகையான உயிரினங்களைக் குறிக்கும்.  அவை தேவர்கள், மனிதர்கள், மிருகங்கள்,ஊர்வன, நீரில் வாழ்வன, பறப்பன மற்றும் தாவரங்கள்.

ஒரு குழந்தை கருவில்  ஏழு நிலைகளைக் கடந்து வெளிவருகிறது என்று இந்திய மருத்துவம் கூறுகிறது.  அவை மூலாதாரம் ( 3 வாரங்கள்), சுவாதிஷ்டானம் ( 3-6 வாரங்கள்) மணிபூரகம் (6-12 வாரங்கள்) அனாஹதம் (12-24 வாரங்கள்) , விசுத்தம் (24-30 வாரங்கள்), ஆக்ஞை (30-38 வாரங்கள்) சகஸ்ராரம் (39 வாரங்களுக்கு மேல்)  (wwwlmovingmoon.com/node/36)  ஏழு வகைத் தோற்றத்துக்கு முன் பரம் மட்டுமே இருந்தது என்று கூறுவது இந்தக் கருத்திலும் பொருந்தும்.

எழுவகைத் தோற்றம் என்பது ஏழு உணர்வு நிலைகளான சிவன், சக்தி, சதாசிவன், மகேஸ்வரன், ருத்திரன், விஷ்ணு மற்றும் பிரம்மாவைக் குறிக்கலாம்.  இவை தோன்றுவதற்கு முன் பரம் ஒன்று மட்டுமே இருந்தது.
