119. The Param, the space, remained as singularity

Verse 119

என்றுமுள்ளார் அடிமுடியே ஆதியந்தம்

ஏகமவர் வடிவு வெளி யடிபாதாளம்

மன்று கதிர் சந்திரனும் இல்லாக்காலம்

அதிரும் இடி மின்மேகம் இல்லாக்காலம்

குன்றுசெடி ஆண் பெண்ணும் இல்லாக்காலம்

கூறு பஞ்ச பூத நெறி இல்லாக்காலம்

ஒன்றெனவே நிறைந்த பரம் நின்றவாறும்

ஒருவரறியாதசெயல் உண்மை காணே

Translation:

The head and foot of the one who is present eternally is the origin and terminus

His form is singularity, space.  Foot, the netherland

The time when there was no arena, sun and the moon

The time when the roaring thunder, lightning and clouds were not present

The time when hills, plants, man and woman were nonexistent

The time when the component, the five elements and their rules did not exist

The singular Param that fills everywhere remained

The maaner- no one knows, truth, see it.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar begins creation by describing the time when the world, as we know it, did not exist.  There were no elements or lifeforms.  Only the Supreme Being remained in its form, the space. Its feet marked the pathaala or the lower frontier. Param, the Supreme Being remained in its state of singularity.

சிருஷ்டியை விளக்கப் புகும் அகத்தியர் நாம் காணும் உருவத்தில் உள்ள உலகுக்கு முற்பட்ட காலத்தைக் குறிப்பிடுகிறார்.  அப்போதுசீவராசிகளோ பஞ்ச பூதங்களோ இருக்கவில்லை.  வெளியுருவான பரம் மட்டுமே எங்கும் நிறைந்திருந்தது.  அதன் அடி இருந்த இடம் பாதாளம் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.  பரம் தனது ஏக நிலையில் இருந்தது
