Verse 480

ஆசாபாசம்

ஆசை என்ற ஆசையெல்லா மாசாபாசம்

அரகரா தியாக மென்ற பாசத்துக்கு

ஓசை என்ற சிவயதனால் ஆசைமீறி

உண்மையென்ற ஞானமதி தன்னைக் காண

பாசைஎன்ற பலசமய நூலாராய்ந்து

பத்திக்கொண்ட அஷ்டாங்க பாசத்தேகி

பூசைஎன்ற ஆகமங்கள் செய்துகொண்டு

பொல்லாத மாய்கையிலே புகுந்தார் பாரே

Translation:

Desire and attachment

Desires, all the desires are attachments

Araharaa!  For sacrifice, an attachment,

Going beyond the sound with sivaya,

To see the wise mind/moon of wisdom, the truth,

(People) Examining several books in languages

Going to the desire of ashtanga

Performing puja, the agama

They entered the dangerous maya, See.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar says that all desires are attachments including the desire to experience the mathi of wisdom, the truth.  For this goal people perform sacrifices, an attachment, go beyond the desire with sivaya, read several books, perform ashtanga yoga, puja that are agama and enter the maya.

எல்லா ஆசைகளும் பாசமே என்று கூறும் அகத்தியர் ஞான மதியை, உண்மையைக் காண விரும்பும் மக்கள் தியாகம் என்ற பாசத்தினால் சிவய என்பதால் ஆசையை மீறி, நூல்களை ஆராய்ந்து அஷ்டாங்க யோகமும் பூஜைகள் எனப்படும் ஆகமங்களைச் செய்து மாயையில் வீழ்கின்றனர் என்கிறார்.  இப்பாடலின் கருத்து பின் வரும் பாடல்களினால் தெளிவடைகிறது.
