490. Mother Sivajyothi

Verse 490

சேர்த்துமிகத் தானுருக்கிப் பார்க்கும்போது

சிவசிவா பொன்னொளிவை என்ன சொல்வேன்

மாத்ததிகமான சிவ சோதித்தாயை

மனது பரிபூரணமாய்ப் பூசை பண்ணி

ஆத்துமத்துக்கு அரசான சோதிஎன்று

அனுதினமுஞ் சிவயோகத் தாசை பூண்டு

பார்த்திபனே பூரணமாய் நின்றாயானால்

பக்குவமாய்ப் பூரணத்தில் பதியலாமே.

Translation:

Adding them and melting them together

Siva sivaa!  How can I describe the golden brilliance!

The Mother, Sivajyothi, with supreme purity

Worshipping with fully complete mind

As the flame which is the king of the soul

Having interest in Sivayoga, daily,

Parthibha!  If you remain as fully complete

You can get submerged in the poornam.

Commentary:

In the previous verses Agatthiyar mentioned the control of the mind, consciousness, breath and the energy and directing towards various chakra.  He also mentioned about the downpour of divine nectar.  In this verse, he talks about a sincere prayer that should accompany the previously mentioned processes.  He says that the yogin should worship Sakthi, the Sivajyothi mother, as the ruler of the soul and remain in the poorna state performing siva yogam.   The fully complete or poornam state is turiya, the fourth state of consciouness.  The mind is focused on sakthi and consciousness is immersed in the turya state. 

முந்தைய பாடல்களில் அகத்தியர் மனம், உணர்வு, மூச்சு பிராணன் ஆகியவற்றைப் பற்றிப் பேசினார். லலாடத்திலிருந்து சுரக்கும் அமிர்தத்தையும் விளக்கினார்.  இப்பாடலில் இந்தப் பயிற்சியுடன் கூடிய பிரார்த்தனையைக் கூறுகிறார். பிரார்த்தனை என்பது மனத்தை ஒன்றில் குவிப்பது.  இங்கு மனத்தை சக்தியிடம், சிவசோதியிடம் குவிக்கக் கூறுகிறார் அகத்தியர்.  இவ்வாறு செய்தால் பூரணத்தில் பதியலாம் என்று அவர் கூறுகிறார்.   இங்கு பூரண நிலை என்பது துரிய நிலையைக் குறிக்கிறது.
