379. Another sunnam- prapancha sakthi

Verse 379

தானென்ற காரமடா அண்டச்சத்து

தருவான பூமியுட நாதச் சத்து

வானென்ற வீரமடா பூரச்சத்து

மார்கமுடன் சத்துவகை மூன்றுங் கூட்டி

மானென்ற கல்வத்தில் நன்றாய் ஆட்டி

மானதிருக் களித்துருட்டிப் புடத்தைப் போடு

ஊனென்ற சத்துவகை மூன்றும் ஒன்றாய்

உடனே சேர்ந்து உருகியது சுன்னமாச்சே

Translation:

The kaaram is the power of the universe

The power of the earth, the nadha

The sky, the veeram, the power of pooram

Mixing them together

Grinding them in the mahat, the mortar

Offer it to the Sacred, collect it and process it

The body in which the three powers together,

Joining them together and melting them, became sunnam.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar talked about the “desi” or prana in the previous verse.  Here he is talking about the prapancha prana sakthi.  This is the energy present in the universe.  It is constituted by the three heavenly bodies, the sun, the moon and the earth.  They are referred to as akara, ukara and makara. The prana of the previous verse corresponds to that in the body.  The prana in the body is mixed with the prapancha prana during vaasi yogam.  This process is mentioned in this verse.  The prapancha prana sakti is joined together with the help of mahat or the entity which is the cause of the material universe.  The prapancha prana sakthi emerges from the Supreme, the Tiru the Sacred.  The power from the three bodies are drawn into the body and merged together to form the sunnam.

முந்தைய பாடலில் அகத்தியர் தேசி எனப்படும் பிராணனைப் பற்றிக் கூறினார்.  அங்கு கூறப்பட்ட பிராணன் மூச்சுக்காற்றுடன் சேர்ந்து உடலுக்குள் வந்தது.  வாசி யோகத்தின்போது இந்த பிராணன் வெளியில் உள்ள பிரபஞ்ச பிராணனுடன் கலக்கப்படுகிறது.  இந்த பிரபஞ்சப் பிராணன் சூரியன், சந்திரன் பூமி என்ற மூன்று பொருள்களிலிருந்தும் பெறப்படும் சக்தியாகும்.  இந்த சக்தி உலகம் தோன்றியபோது திரு எனப்படும் இறைவனிடமிருந்து வந்தவை.  இந்த மூன்றையும் உடலில் ஒன்றாகக் கலந்தால் ஏற்படுவது சுன்னம் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
