Translation:
Consider everything seen as embodiment of sivam
Consider everything that was crossed and went beyond as embodiment of sivam
Consider the nutured self as embodiment of sivam
Consider the means, the vaasi as embodiment of sivam
Consider the consumed macro and micro cosms as embodiment of sivam
Consider the contained sabdha as embodiment of sivam
Consider the embodiment of sivam as niramaya
The characteristic, sukha jeeva prana is the native/good form (suroopamayam)..

Commentary:
Agatthiyar sums up the goal of vaasiyoga sivayoga with this verse.  After listing all the entities at must be crushed and gone beyond he tells us that everything is an embodiment of sivam.  Sivam is consciousness, “unarvu”.  He tells us that all the perceptions, the stages crossed, the self, the vaasi, micro/macrocosm and the qualities-sabdha etc including the nadha are all embodiments of consciousness.  This consciousness is niramaya or faultless, pure or suddha.  He says this is the original form, the good form- surupa, the blissful state of jeeva which is nothing but the supreme.

403. Everything is sivam everything is by sivam

Verse 403

Translation:
Abiding, becoming niramayam, as poorna thaarakam
Removing all the attention to one side, with the eon ending
As the fully complete that accumulated at the left and at the right
Any action, when wished happily
Will occur without any obstruction- attaining that sitthu, it will appear as great sattham
Because of knowing one’s own mind
Becoming firm, as niramaya, chinmaya pooranam
Siva sivaa! See sivakaram as sivamayam.

Commentary:
Niramaya, as we saw before, means infalliable, error-free.  Poorna thaarakam- thaarakam means absolutely essential.  Poorna thaarakam means the fully complete essence.  All the external attentions are removed. Idam and valam means ida and pingala nadi.  Consciousness
flows through the middle.  The yogin attains karya siddhi or having all his wishes fulfilled.  He will know his own mind.  He will see everything happening because of siva and everything as embodiment of siva

Translation:
Crushing the clear vaseekaram and mohanam
Crusihing the sthambanam and ucchaadanam
Crushing the kirisanam and veshanam
Crushing the maaranam, bedhanam with all the types.
Crushing the fog, the jagat jaalam
Crushing the desire for a woman and related desires
Crushing the difficult to destroy desire for a woman and land
The goal is to abide as thanmayam

Commentary:
Agatthiyar is talking about the ashta karma or eight actions that a yogin is able to accomplish as a result of yoga siddhi.  They are vaseekaram, mohanam, sthambanam, ucchaadanam, kirisanam, udhveshanam, maaranam and bedhanam.  The yogin is able to produce all kinds of magical vision or jagat jaalam.  He is also able to go beyond the fog created by the manifested world, the jagat jaalam.  He crosses the desires and reaches a state of sanmayam or selfhood.  The desire for woman and land are mentioned as examples.  These represent the three types of eshanai- putra (offspring) artha (wealth) and ulaga (worldly attachments) edanai.  Agatthiyar mentioned this is in verse 45  Some say that it is putra, artha and kalatthra edanai.
Thanmayam means remaining in the state of self.

Translation:
Crushing seeing, abiding the consumption
The firm brahman, niyama
Crushing the pranayama, asana
Ara haraa!  Crushing pratiyahara
Crushing the dhaarana, dhyana
The sukha jeeva pranakala samadhis- crushing them
The firm gross and subtle-curshing them
Siva sivaa becoming clear as niraamaya- the desire.

Commentary:
This verse describes crushing or going beyond the ashtanga yoga.  Agatthiyar says, “crushing the steps of the ashtanga yoga, the sthula and sukshama and becoming the niraamaya is the goal.”

Thus Agatthiyar is describing the various steps that a yogin has to cross to reach the supreme state of niramaya or absolute purity.

400. Goal verse 3

Verse 400

Translation:
Crushing all that is seen by/in the eye
Crushing the middle, top and bottom termini
Crushing the dance, the akasha and vayu
Crushing the fire and the salt (uppu)
Crushing the pritvi, ravi and mathi
Crushing the whorl and the ajapa
Crusing the flow, the pasa and birth
Abiding as the niramaya, the nothingness- this is the aim

Commentary:
This verse seems to correspond to the ajna cakra.  The eye mentioned here refers to the third eye.  The yogin sees visions at the ajna when consciousness reaches there.  The top, middle and bottom correspond to ajna, the cakras in the middle and the muladhara.  Thus, the elements in the subtle body are crused.  The five elements are seen at the ajna as five different hues.  The dance is their active state.  The main nadi sushumna, ida and pingala nadi (ravi and mathi) are crushed next. Ajapa is unuttered sound.  That is the nadhantha.  The flow or running is the cause of births and deaths, the pasa.  When all these are crushed the yogin reaches the state of niramaya or purity, free from any afflictions.  Agatthiyar says that this is the goal.

Translation:
Crushing the ten senses that remain with the goal/aim
Crushing the nadhantha nadha and bindhu
Crushing the yogam and siva yogam
Crusing the thiru- the temples and rivers
Crusing the ahamkara and other sath
Crushing the five letters, three letters and one
Crushing the sorrow, delusions and happiness
Crushing the coming and going (birth and death) is the aim

Commentary:
This verse continues to describe the goal of the yogin engaged in the pursuit that Agatthiyar has described so far.
The yogin wishes to crush the following:
The ten senses- the five elements and their qualities are objects for the ten senses- five senses of action and five of knowledge.  Thus, the object was crushed in the previous verse, the perceiver is crushed here.

Experiences derived through these senses are due to nadha and bindhu-sakthi and siva.  Hence the nadha and bindhu are crushed next.

The temples and rivers are loci in the body that Agatthiyar mentioned before.  Then the sath or existence in distinct form is crushed.  The five letters are the namasivaya or omkara in five distinct states- a,u,m,nadha and bindhu. The three letters may be sivaya, a, u, m or aim, kleem, sau and the single letter is om or si.  While omkara represents the singularity, its form in the five distinct states represents manifestation.

Namasivaya represents all the principles- five elements, five states of consciousness etc in their potential state.  So these are also removed. The three a, u,m represent various principles- siva sakthi and jiva or Isvara, Jiva and maya.   The three may be the three sakthi letters aim, kleem, sau.  The single letter is om or si that represent the state of singularity.  Agatthiyar says that they should also be crushed because there is still Me and they, the distinctions.  Then the distinctions as happiness, sorrow and delusion are crushed.  These three lead to samskara that get carried over to the next birth.  Then the process of birth and death are crushed.

Translation:
Interest
Crushing the five elements that remain with their parts
Crushing the five innate impurities and adhara
Crushing the sivakala, the beautiful world
Crushing the states of conscsiouness including jagrit and the worlds created
Crushing the glorious seven types and puja
Crushing the four methods, charya and others
Crushing the lady, mount of bodham and two fires
The goal is to crush the word, “self”.

Commentary:
From this verse onwards Agatthiyar is describing the merging or laya of various principles to reach the supreme state.
The five elements and their five qualities, touch, taste, hearing, smell and sight bring about sensual experiences.  These are the ultimately cause distinctions.  Hence, they are to be crushed first.

While the events recorded by the senses are the same that appear as pleasurable or painful to a person depending on his innate impurities or mala.  For example a music may be pleasurable to one but horrible for another. As the five mala- aanava, karma, maya, mayeya and tirodhayi determine the experience of an event they must be crushed next.  They cause karma. One’s reaction to an event causes karma.

The next to crushed is the experience of external world.  It is called siva kaLai ambhuvi as it is experienced by sivam or consciousness. As we saw before the earth appears as such because of our mala.

The external world is experienced in the wakeful state of consciousness.  However, a person remains in other states of consciousness.  They are dream state, deep sleep, turya and turyatheetha.  These five states correspond to distinct experiences.  They are also not the ultimate state and so should be crushed.

The states are experienced when consciousness is present at different cakras. For example turyathetha is experienced at muladhara.  The souls are classified into seven forms depending on where they have their consciousness stationed.  Agathiyar in his ezhuvagai thottram describes this elaborately.  Thus, the perception and experiences of the soul differs depending on their form.  Hence, the nature of the lifeform that one is in- whether it is celestials, humans, crawlers, birds, aquatic, insects or plants- should be crushed next.  The seven may also mean the seven lokha that include bhu, bhuvar etc.  These are six states that a soul goes through to reach the satya lokha or the state of Parabrahman.

Then Agatthiyar talks about the methods for ascent of consciousness.  The puja or ritual worships and the four steps, charya, kriya, yoga and jnana should be crushed.

The next to crush is the lady or kundalini. Then the bodham, the two types of prana- prapancha prana and the prana within the body or inhalation and exhalation are to be crushed and ultimately the I sense should be removed.

From the above verse we see that Agatthiyar is listing the ascending order of distinction-less state starting from completely gross- the elements and the sensual world to the supreme subtle I-ness of ahamkara.  Thus, Agatthiyar is indicating that the supreme state is “becoming that” not knowing “that” or experiencing “that”.
