430. Para jnana shrikona mother's path

Verse 430

Translation:
Receiving it knowing the two kala,
The silence, the mango fruit, consume it with mercy
The strength to cross the seven sabhas will occur
For the mind to abide, see the gati (flow) of the breath
It will roam around the universes in a proper way
The land of the Parajnana Srikona mother
The speed/path with the strength from consuming the mango fruit occurred
See the great subtlety.

Commentary:
Agattiyar says that when the mango fruit, the supreme silence, is consumed the yogin with get the strength to cross the seven cakras or sabhas.  The path that the breath traverses should be watched to make the mind abide in quietitude.  The vaasi will roam around the universe, the path of Sakthi whom Agatthiyar calls as the “Parajnana srikona thaai”.

This verse reminds us of the story of Ganesha and Subramanya competing for the mango fruit.  While Ganesha got it after circumambulating Siva and Sakthi Muruga goes around the world on his peacock.
Ganesha represents the kundalini sakthi which reaches the state where sakti and siva are together, when nadha and bindu are together. This state results in the mango fruit of the great silence.  Muruga on the other hand travels on ahamkara in the external world.  His journey was external instead of being inwards and hence he lost out on the mango fruit.  This seems to be the inner meaning of the story. Ganesha travelled the worlds created internally by the cakra.

429. Para jnana poornam, silence

Verse 429

Translation:
Jnana, the wisdom is the wisdom of silence
The jnana which is nadhanatha bodham
The mind abiding as silence, the milk of wisdom
The liberation, consume it by blowing the two airs
The drink, the madhura paanam
Will flow uninterrupted as parajnana poornam
Knowing the locus, the sthana and receiving with air
With the help of vaasi, receive it, with attention, by the mouth.

Commentary:
Thirumular, while describing the steps of manifestation says that originally there was parapam.  Bodham or awareness occurred in it and it became parapari.  Thus, the original male and female principles attained identity when awareness emerged.  Agatthiyar is conveying the same idea here.  The original state is the nadhantha bodham, the state beyond the nadha.  It is the jnana or wisdom of silence.  Here the mind abides and silence occurs.  This state results in the emergence of the milk or amrit.  This is the para jnana poornam.  It is consumed with the help of inhalation and exhalation, with the help of vaasi.

427. Mango fruit

Verse 427

Translation:
Mango fruit
Consuming the “madhuram” that was received, knowing its taste
The melting mind is placed at the flower in the great bottom
If remained firmly in the guru adi, to attain the state
Due to the strength of the siva yogam
The six adhara, from muladhara
Will belong, all the worlds as self,
Due to the strength of the vaasi that flows greatly
The destructible house became strong, see it.

Commentary:
Siddhas call the amrit that flows from the lalata by different names.  Two among them are the mango fruit, the maangaai paal or essence of the mango.  Scientifically, the fluid or the nectar emerges from the pineal gland.  Its shape resembles a mango.
When the nectar flows down the yogin consumes it and places his attention at the muladhara.  Agatthiyar calls this as guru adi or the bottom terminus that grants the light of awareness.  Then all the six adhara will come under control. Everything will be perceived as self.  The vaasi that flows with great force will draw in the universal prana sakthi and strengthen the body.  This is called kaya siddhi.

428. The Srikonam

Verse 428

Translation:
The firm pancha gana, pancha moolam
Due to the truth, the terminus, Srichakra
The universe surrounded by the light of sun, moon and flame,
Due to the disanadha vaasi, the jewel in the locus
Due to the sruthi, the vaasi, the ammaavaasi,
Becoming the sukha jeeva prana kala jyothi,
Becoming charya, kriya and sivayoga
The jnana- the sakala kala jnana.

Commentary:
The Supreme state of union of all the dichotomies including siva and sakthi is represented by the Srichakra which is a map of the universe.  It represents the universe surrounded by the three lights, the sun, the moon and the fire or flame.  These three flames represent the nadha, bindhu and consciousness.  The vaasi is the united breath and prana that is regulated.  The sruthi is nadha and ammavaasi is the supreme state where the vaasi flows with great force.  The flame of sukha jeeva prana kala jyothi is the state of union of limited prana in the body and the universal prana.  The four states of charya, kriya, sivayoga and jnana represent different states of the soul namely, salokhyam, sameepyam, saroopyam and sayujyam.

426. When amrit flows

Verse 426

Translation:
The silence, the original silence, is the lady
At the time when self was realized
To consume the honey-like drink of divya ras
At the time when the ruddy flower bloomed
In the body, the madhu raja wax
Becoming happy mentally, the air picking up speed
Drawing it in forcefully, by guru’s grace
The closed flower, the matured jewel, receive it tasting it.

Commentary:
Agatthiyar is talking about the amrit that flows as a result of vaasi yogam.  He calls it divya rasa paanam.  When this occurs the chakra are fully opened. He calls this as the time when the red hued flower bloomed fully.  The body is called madhu raja mezhugu or madhu raja wax.  The prana flows with a great force.  At this time the amrit starts flowing.  Agatthiyar says that this occurs due to guru’s grace and that one should suck it in with force.  He also calls this as the matured jewel and says that one should enjoy tasting it.

425. Inba rasa kaayaadhi karpam- kayakalpa of bliss

Verse 425

Translation:
Stirring it, placing it in ravi
Collecting it in the ceramic, with mercy,
Praising the lady anda kechari
Knowing the state of the body, during ends and junctions
If a small (bead size) is consumed
The kutila, the evil karma will disappear
They will live with glory in all eight directions
This is kaayaadhi karpam of blissful rasa.

Commentary:
Agatthiyar is continuing the previous verse.  He says that the product of sakti, siva, vaalai, nadha, bindhu, prana and consciousness are merged together to draw down the nectar which is saved in the vishuddhi.  It is consumed or brought down to muladhara the terminus (andhi) and manipuraka twilight (sandhi).  Then all the evil karma will run away and the yogin will live gloriously. He calls this as “inba rasa kaayaadhi karpam” the potion that grants inba rasa or bliss.

424. Sakthi uppu thailam

Verse 424

Translation:
The oil of salt of Sakthi (sakthi uppu)
Assemble all the five together
Center it and place it in ravi
Listen to another preparation
Along with sakthi salt add veeram and pooram
Adding them knowing the composition
Immersing in the armour and extract the medicinal oil
Add the previously mentioned five
Stir it adding the true medicinal oil.

Commentary:
The philosophical explanation:  the five from previous verse- sakthi, siva, vaalai, poornam and ravi bhijam.  They are nadha, bindhu, kundalini which is a combination of breath, prana, mind and consciousness, and akara.
The sakthi uppu is ukara.  Veeram and pooram (verse 319) was the prapancha prana or the space principle. They are immersed in the armour which may be the body or the sushumna nadi.  The oil is the fluid in the body.  To this is added the above five and stirred with the medicinal
Agatthiyar is indicating seed letters or bhija akshara that are recited during this process.  These mantra should be obtained from a guru.  Hence, he has not mentioned them explicitly.
