536. Siva jnanan in a nutshell

Verse 536

பாரடா சிவஞான மென்ன வென்றால்

பாருலகில் நின்றவுயிர் பயிர்களெல்லாம்

நேரடா தன்னகம்போல் காணவேணும்

நேர்மையுடன் சத்தியமாய் நிற்கவேணும்

காரடா சகலகலைக் கியானமெல்லாங்

கருத்துகந்து பூரணமாய்க் காண வேணும்

மேரடா மேருகிரி அந்தங்கண்டு

விள்ளாத பொருளதுவே விளங்கும்பாரே

Translation:

See son, Sivajnana is

All the lifeforms in the world, including crops

You should see like yourself,

You should remain honestly as truth

All the kala jnana

You should perceive them completely with interest

Seeing the terminus of Merugiri

The entity that was not described will become clear.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar explains Siva jnana or wisdom of sivam in a nutshell.  It is considering all lifeforms as oneself, remaining truthful and honest, perceiving all the knowledge as nothing other than the Supreme being who is fully complete.  Then one will see the terminus of Meru, the terminus of distinct existence.  Then, even the knowledge that cannot be described verbally will become clear.  This is siva jnanam, the supreme wisdom.

சிவஞானம் என்றால் என்ன என்று இப்பாடலில் கூறுகிறார் அகத்தியர்.  உலகில் உள்ள எல்லா உயிர்களையும் தன்னுயிராகக் காண வேண்டும், நேர்மை சத்தியம் என்பதாக நிற்கவேண்டும், எல்லா ஞானங்களையும் பூரணமாக, இறைவனாகக் காணவேண்டும், அவற்றைப் பூரணமாக அறிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும்,  அப்போது மேரு கிரி எனப்படும் இருப்பின் உச்ச நிலை புலப்படும்,  வார்த்தைகளால் விளக்க முடியாத ஞானம்கூட அப்போது தெளிவாகப் புரியும் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.

இதுவே சிவஞானம்.
